  • Publication number: 20030086762
Abstract: A paved road including a reinforcement sheet layer (1A) and a pavement layer (22), in which said reinforcement sheet layer (1A) includes an asphalt layer (2) laminated to at least one side of a reinforcement sheet (1) including a composite material that is impregnated with a thermoplastic resin so that a volume content of a continuous glass fiber is not less than 30% and not more than 85% using the continuous glass fiber as reinforcement fiber is provided. The paved road shows remarkably excellent durability to rutting and crack, and a thin surfacing (thin layer pavement) paving with thickness of asphalt made thinner becomes possible.

  • Patent number: 5829804
Abstract: Disclosed is a resin composition for the making of automobile bumpers comprising specified amounts of (A) a specific propylene-ethylene block copolymer, (B) a specific propylene homopolymer, (C) (C1) an ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber (EPM) and/or (C2) an ethylene-propylene-diene copolymer rubber (EPDM), (D) talc, and optionally (E) a polyhydroxy polyolefin. This resin composition shows an improvement in flexural modulus of elasticity and low-temperature impact resistance and also has good processability by injection molding, especially in terms of planar smoothness. Moreover, when component (E) is added, this resin composition provides automobile bumpers having adequate coating adhesion and hence excellent paintability. Thus, this resin composition is highly suitable for use in the making of automobile bumpers.

  • Patent number: 5653693
Abstract: This invention relates to a preparation comprising a transparent syringe body or container, which has been obtained by molding a resin comprising, as a base material, a propylene polymer, and as a nucleating agent, a phosphoric ester represented by the following general formula (1): ##STR1## and a drug solution charged into the syringe body or container. The preparation is excellent in transparency, free from the dissolution of additives for the resin into the drug solution charged therein even when the drug solution remains charged for a long period of time and hence high in safety. The preparation is useful, in particular, as a syringe preparation charged with a drug solution therein.

  • Patent number: 5525675
Abstract: Described is a thermoplastic elastomer comprising (A) 10-90 wt. % of polypropylene having substantially a syndiotactic structure, and (B) 90-10 wt. % of an ethylene-propylene-nonconjugated diene copolymer rubber and/or ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber, said (B) having been partially crosslinked. The elastomer according to the present invention is useful for obtaining formed products, particularly automotive bumper fascias, automotive mud guards and automotive trim skin material, which are excellent not only in flexibility, rubber elasticity and mechanical strength but also in external appearance and touch, and are substantially free from bleeding and fogging.

  • Patent number: 5328950
Abstract: A polypropylene resin composition which is excellent in transparency and which shows very low pH reduction of the extract obtained in a promoted hot water-extraction test of a polypropylene resin which has been irradiated with radiant rays for sterilization. The polypropylene resin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a polypropylene resin, 0.01 to 1.0 part by weight of a metal diarylphosphate represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## (wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; M represents an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal; n is an integer of 1 or 2; and A represents an alkylidene group); and 0,001 to 1.0 part by weight of a hydroxide of an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or an element of the aluminum group. The polypropylene resin composition is suitable for use in making medical instruments, containers for foods or the like.
