  • Patent number: 9569296
Abstract: The invention uses a PRBS pattern generated by transmitter (serializer) as training. At the receiver side, following receiver outputs, a synchronous capturing module is used to capture multiple lanes simultaneously. The captured data is used to calculate the PRBS distance for different lanes. After the distances are obtained, the one with largest latency is used as a reference, to calculate the relative latency with each other lane. This relative latency is further used to calculate the number of shifts for Barrel Shifter and word shifter.

  • Patent number: 8315523
Abstract: When a frame is received from one of PON ports 12a to 12c of ONUs 1a to 1c, an OLT 3 compares VPIDs contained in Preamble/SFD regions A of the received Ethernet® frame with VPIDs assigned to LAN ports 31 and 32 of the OLT 3. Upon coincidence, a PON MAC process is started. When a frame is received from a PON port 33 of the OLT 3, each of the ONUs 1a to 1c compares a VPID contained in a Preamble/SFD region of the received Ethernet® frame with VPIDs assigned to the ONUs 1a to 1c. Upon coincidence, a PON MAC process is started.

  • Publication number: 20110293288
Abstract: In conventional technology, if a frame itself is discarded as being invalid when a sync header has an error, an error correction cannot be performed on a frame that does not fall out of synchronization even at such a low error rate that an error correction can satisfactorily be performed. According to the present invention, each of an optical line terminal and an optical network unit includes a synchronization detection part for detecting whether or not received data converted into frame form falls out of synchronization, and an error correction part for performing an error correction on a frame of the received data that has been detected not falling out of synchronization by the synchronization detection means, irrespective of existence of an error in a sync header of that frame.

  • Publication number: 20100021158
Abstract: A subscriber terminating unit includes an error count counting portion counting an error count in a predetermined time range based on the number of corrections by an error correction function and an error count transmitting portion transmitting the error count to an office terminating unit. The office terminating unit includes an error count receiving portion receiving the error count from the subscriber terminating unit as a received error count and a correction method determining portion determining, based on the received error count, an error correction method or an error correction disuse which is used in the subscriber terminating unit.
