  • Patent number: 7712183
Abstract: An electric vacuum cleaner (1) of the invention is adapted for wipe off cleaning using a sheet wound about a rotary brush (25) incorporated in a suction device (10). In order to wind a sheet (50) around a periphery of the rotary brush (25), a brush motor (44) rotates the rotary brush (25) in a predetermined direction at a predetermined rotational speed. At the same time, suction force of an electric blower fan (42) is set to the lowest level. This achieves the following advantage in a case where a wet sheet is used as the sheet (50). During sheet winding, water and alcohol released from the wet sheet (50) can be prevented from being scattered on a surface (100) to be cleaned. Further, the released water and alcohol do not adversely affect the electric blower fan (42).

  • Patent number: 6336244
Abstract: In an electric blower, exhaust air discharged radially from a centrifugal fan is redirected to a motor drive section by a diffuser and a fan cover. The air passes from a ventilation opening on a motor frame and through a bracket to cool the motor drive section. A portion of the air from the centrifugal fan is bled off through exhaust openings without passing over the motor, whereby this portion remains cooler and cleaner than the air that passes over the motor. Air flows up a wand and then passes over the motor to cool the motor. This air passes through filters before being discharged. The portion of air that is bled off passes along a parallel path in the wand to agitate dirt, and to maintain the wand relatively cool. In one embodiment, some of the bled-off portion is discharged directly without passing along the wand.

  • Patent number: 6243915
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner wherein a hose, a pipe and a suction nozzle, which are connected to a vacuum cleaner main body incorporating therein a motor fan, are formed with a suction air passage as well as an exhaust air passage for making air exhausted from the motor fan circumfluently flow. The pipe is composed of an inner cylindrical portion having a substantially circular section and forming the suction air passage, and an outer cylindrical portion a part of which is uniformly formed with the inner cylindrical portion and which covers the inner cylindrical portion to form the exhaust air passage. There can be achieved for a light-weighted and slim-sized arrangement of the pipe through which the suction air passage and the exhaust air passage extends without the fear of dust plugging, and a vacuum cleaner of exhaust circumfluently flowing type can be easily put into to practice.

  • Patent number: 6122798
Abstract: A dust suction head for use in an electric vacuum cleaner, having an air suction port at the bottom of the head. The head has a brush chamber which accommodates therein a freely rotatable brush having blades that extend along the shaft of the rotational brush. The head additionally has an opening and an air passage connected with the opening for taking in and leading fresh air into the vacuum chamber of the cleaner through the brush chamber such that the fresh air passing through the brush chamber impinges on the blades to accelerate the rotational motion of the blades. Thus, the head can obtain a necessary amount of air to rotate the brush at all times, especially when it is brushing a carpet, and maintain its smooth motion on the floor while dusting it.

  • Patent number: 4949134
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an intermediate tray wherein a copied paper on which an image has been formed is stored. In the case of a double-face copy, the copied paper is stored in the intermediate tray in a manner that a surface on which an image has been formed is faced upward and, in the case of a multi-copy, the copied paper is stored in the intermediate tray in a manner that a surface on which an image has been formed is faced downward. The intermediate tray has two movable guide members which sandwiches the copied paper stored in the intermediate tray in a width direction thereof. The movable guide members are moved so as to go and come back once at every timing when a sheet of copied paper is stored in the intermediate tray, whereby both side ends of the copied paper are pushed by the movable guide members to be aligned.
