Abstract: A motorcycle that can facilitate identification of and taking in and out of an article stored below a rear seat includes a storage box that is mounted to a body frame. The front portion of the storage box is covered by a front seat. The rear portion of the storage box is covered by the rear seat and the rear seat is surrounded by the rear spoiler. The rear spoiler has an opening portion that is almost-rectangular as viewed from above. When the rear seat is removed, an article can be put in and taken out from the storage box through the opening portion. A first seal member is attached to the bottom plate of the rear seat, and is pressed against the circumferential edge portion of the opening portion to thereby seal between the rear seat and the rear spoiler.

Abstract: A scooter vehicle includes a steering handlebar, a radiator disposed under a seat, a step floor disposed between the steering handlebar and the scat, and a leg shield disposed forward of the step floor. The leg shield includes an upper portion protruding toward a rider side which includes a stuff box portion that shields the legs of the rider. The leg shield also is provided with an opening portion serving as a feed-water port for the radiator. The opening portion is covered by a cover member extending along a tunnel portion of the step floor in a back and forth direction of a vehicle body. The resulting configuration reduces the length of a feed-water pipe, thereby enhancing the ability to perform maintenance of the radiator.

A portion of the storage box is allowed to face the through-hole, forming the rear seat support portion. The bottom plate of the rear seat is abutted against the rear seat support portion to support the load of the rear seat. A labyrinth structure seals between the storage box and the rear spoiler. The first seal member attached to the rear seat seals between the rear spoiler and the rear seat.

In an embodiment, the invention can allow the capacity of a storage box to be large enough to accommodate long goods therein. In an embodiment, the invention includes a storage box having a front helmet storage portion and a rear helmet storage portion. The front helmet storage portion is disposed under a front seat. The rear helmet storage portion is disposed under a rear seat, which together with the front seat, constitutes a tandem type riding seat. The storage box is disposed under the riding seat so as to extend from under a front end of the riding seat up to near an upper portion of a rear cushion that suspends a rear wheel from a rear portion of a vehicle body frame.

The bicycle includes a clutch lever for connecting and disconnecting the clutch mechanism, a throttle lever for controlling a throttle valve of the engine, a switching mechanism for connecting the clutch mechanism in coaction with the throttle lever when the clutch mechanism is disconnected, and an engine starting circuit closable and openable in response to connection and disconnection of the clutch mechanism. The clutch mechanism can be connected in response to operation of the throttle lever, the engine can be started when the clutch mechanism is connected, and the engine can be rendered inoperative in response to operation of the clutch lever.
