Abstract: A windshield control device is configured such that a position and/or an angle in a height direction of a windshield attached to a front part of a vehicle is optionally adjusted by an actuator. The windshield control device includes receiving means that receives a signal related to a head set having a microphone used by a rider, and control means that drives and controls the windshield. The control means upwardly moves the windshield according to the signal received by the receiving means. The signal is a tone signal input from the microphone or a manipulated signal of an active switch for operating the head set or the receiving means. The windshield is upwardly moved according to magnitude of the tone signal input from the microphone after the receiving means is operated.

  • Patent number: 8016595
Abstract: In an interactive driving simulation apparatus for a two-wheeled vehicle, a real-time test drive performance by a student operator around a simulated driving route sequence is recorded. The recorded performance is later replayed for the benefit of the student, to provide real-world simulation, education, and performance evaluation. During the simulated driving, pre-recorded performance evaluation comments are selected and stored, corresponding to the student's specific performance at a traffic driving situation on the driving route sequence. Then, upon displaying of a replay screen image of the simulated driving on a display unit, when a particular traffic driving situation is arrived at, a simulated operating environment of the traffic driving situation and the selected performance evaluation comments are automatically superimposed and displayed together as a replay screen 154.

  • Patent number: 7809577
Abstract: To eliminate a wrong recognition of speech and reduce processing load to be applied to a computer in a simulation apparatus. The simulation apparatus includes a speech recognition section for referring to dictionary data in which a plurality of phrase data are recorded to specify phrase data, a dictionary selection section for selecting the dictionary data to be referred to by the speech recognition section in response to a mode, and a monitor and a motor for being operated based on an operation of rider, speech and the phrase data. The speech recognition section confirms whether or not sound inputting is valid. If the sound inputting is valid, then a speech recognition mark is displayed on a screen. One of the dictionary data is selected based on the mode. Voice of the rider and the dictionary data are referred to for searching for phrase data conforming to the recognized speech.

  • Patent number: 7660656
Abstract: To realize versatility for corresponding to various speed change systems, and to provide a transmission having a simple configuration. A transmission for a motorcycle has a shift pedal elastically inclined up and down from a reference position with a potentio-sensor for detecting the inclination. A control unit determines a shift position value Po obtained from the potentio-sensor, and outputs the shift position value Po to a predetermined speed change coping unit. A comparative determination unit in the control unit determines the inclination of the gear shift pedal through comparing and judging a range B indicative of the reference position, a range N1 set in a predetermined angle range to the lower direction, a range C1 greater in inclination angle than the range N1, a range N2 in a predetermined angle to the upper direction he range B, and a range C2 greater in inclination angle than the range N2.

  • Patent number: 6724538
Abstract: A head-up display is provided which is suitable for a motorcycle. An image is present in peripheral fields outside a 90% center field. In the case where the image is located outside the 90% center field, it does not obstruct driving of the vehicle, and in the case where the image is located in the peripheral fields, it allows a driver to dimly see the shape of the image and thereby recognize the presence of the image. For this reason, the image is located in the peripheral fields. Since an image is located in a peripheral field, the presence of the image can be recognized by a driver while not obstructing a desirable visibility to the front side of the driver. The driver can recognize, on the basis of the presence or absence of the image, whether or not attention should be taken to drive the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6483467
Abstract: An antenna disposition structure is suitable for a motorcycle. An antenna is disposed in a front cover in such a manner as to be disposed over a headlamp and forwardly from a virtual slant line connecting the center of a handlebar to an axle of a front wheel. A driver, who functions as a radio wave absorbing body, acts to weaken radio waves. However, since the antenna is disposed forwardly from the slant line, it is possible to prevent the effect of absorption of radio waves by a driver and to prevent reductions in electromagnetic fields in the vertical and horizontal directions.
