  • Patent number: 5993258
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a connector body to be mounted on a circuit board of an electrical appliance by means of protruding terminal legs of contacts incorporated in the connector body and by means of fixing legs of a shell as a worked body of a metallic plate forming an outer casing of the connector body. A mating connector socket of the shell is positioned so as to open outwardly of the electrical appliance. The shell has an auxiliary leg to be fixed to the circuit board. The auxiliary leg is formed by extension pieces extending from part of the shell on the side of the mating connector socket with respect to the fixing legs of the shell. The auxiliary leg serves to mount the electrical connector on the circuit board with great stability which is maintained for a long time.

  • Patent number: 5900074
Abstract: The formation on the surface of Mg-containing metal of a highly corrosion-resistant, highly rust-inhibiting, and strongly paint-adherent conversion coating, using a chromic acid free treatment bath, is achieved by treatment with a pH 2.0-5.0 aqueous bath that contains phosphoric acid, manganese ion, and amine, thereby forming a conversion coating that contains P--Mn and Mn--N and/or other nitrogen compounds.

  • Patent number: 5645650
Abstract: The present invention produces a highly corrosion-resistant, highly rust-inhibiting, and strongly paint-adherent conversion coating on the surface of magnesium-containing metals, and does so rapidly and at relatively low temperatures, using a substantially chromium-free conversion treatment bath.

  • Patent number: 5417583
Abstract: An insulation-piercing connector includes a terminal block having therein a plurality of piercing terminals, and a piercing block having wire receiving apertures. When the terminal and piercing blocks are forced closer together, insulated wires of a cable received in the wire receiving apertures of the piercing block are forced into U-shaped grooves of the piercing terminals so that inner edges of the U-shaped grooves pierce into conductors of the insulated wires to electrically connect between the conductors and the piercing terminals, respectively. The piercing block is further formed at the forward ends of the wire receiving apertures with U-shaped grooves whose opposed walls form flanges which may be tapered toward each other. A distance between the opposed walls of the U-shaped grooves is less than the outer diameter of the insulated wires but more than the outer diameter of the conductors of the wires.
