  • Patent number: 4479132
Abstract: There is disclosed a thermal printer with memory to memorize pattern information which has previously been printed by a thermal head, a converter connected to the memory and to convert the pattern information memorized in the memory into time information, and a device connected to the converter and to cause new pattern information to be printed by the thermal head on the basis of the timing signal to be obtained from the converter.

  • Patent number: 4456392
Abstract: A heat transfer printer prints information while sequentially driving dots of a thermal head to urge them against a platen through a printing paper sheet and a transfer ink ribbon. The printer has a pulse motor or the like which carries the transfer ink ribbon at a speed relative to the stationary printing paper sheet for performing heat transfer printing with the thermal head.

  • Patent number: 4415890
Abstract: A character generator capable of storing character patterns at different addresses comprises a memory for storing character patterns corresponding to characters. Each of the character patterns includes a plurality of elements and one of the plurality of elements is stored apart from the remainder of the elements in the memory. A signal generator generates signals corresponding to the number of the plurality of elements and an address signal generator generates address signals for obtaining access to each of the character patterns stored in the memory. An address converter gains access to each of the character patterns stored in the memory in accordance with the address signals and the signals generated by the signal generator.
