  • Patent number: 6352445
Abstract: A connector for memory cards includes a connector body having side walls on both sides and a rear wall. The side walls are formed over their length with card receiving portions to meet shapes of side edges and the number of the memory cards to be used. The connector further includes card identification terminals made of a springy metal strip arranged in a plurality of steps in inner surface of one of the side walls, identification tabs arranged spaced from the card identification terminal prior to insertion of a card, for identifying an existence of an inserted card with the aid of the contact between the inserted card and the card identification terminal, and terminals suitably arranged on the rear wall for writing electronic information into cards and reading stored information from cards.

  • Patent number: 5993258
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a connector body to be mounted on a circuit board of an electrical appliance by means of protruding terminal legs of contacts incorporated in the connector body and by means of fixing legs of a shell as a worked body of a metallic plate forming an outer casing of the connector body. A mating connector socket of the shell is positioned so as to open outwardly of the electrical appliance. The shell has an auxiliary leg to be fixed to the circuit board. The auxiliary leg is formed by extension pieces extending from part of the shell on the side of the mating connector socket with respect to the fixing legs of the shell. The auxiliary leg serves to mount the electrical connector on the circuit board with great stability which is maintained for a long time.

  • Patent number: 5957736
Abstract: An electronic part, particularly a microstructure contact having an overall length of the order of 5 mm for an electrical connector or the like is provided with a nickel oxide layer portion having a nickel oxide layer of the order of 50 to 5000 .ANG. in thickness formed by anode oxidizing process using a solution mainly consisting of an alkaline solution. The nickel oxide layer portion is located between a terminal portion of the electronic part to be soldered as in a surface mounting process and a contact portion continuous to and extending from the terminal portion. The nickel oxide layer has a width of the order of 0.2 to 1 mm in the longitudinal direction of the contact and has a performance preventing the flowing of molten solder, thereby effectively preventing the flowing and wicking due to wetting of solder of the solder-plated portion toward the other portions as in the surface mounting process.

  • Patent number: 5647755
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a plurality of contacts, an insulator for receiving the contacts, and guides provided at both ends of the insulator's lengthwise direction. The connector includes push bars inserted in the guides of the insulator, respectively. Each of the push bars has at its one end an anchor portion for engaging a circuit board or a mating connector, an engaging portion at the other end, and a spring piece between the anchor and engaging portions. The connector further includes cams disposed in mounting portions provided at bottoms of the guides at both the ends of the insulator, respectively. Each of the cams has an anchor portion at its one end engageable the engaging portion of the push bar and has a support consisting of pivot pins on the side of the other end for pivotal movement of the cam. The engaging portion of each the push bar is connected to the anchor portion of one of the cams.

  • Patent number: 4797122
Abstract: A drip-proof connector is used in connection between electric cables or the like and electric and electronic appliances such as cameras for televisions, servomotors for machine tools and the like. An insert of the connector is adapted to abut against an inwardly extending annular flange provided on an inside of a connector shell. With this arrangement, the drip-proof connector is simply and easily assembled or disassembled in fields without using particular tools and has a sufficient drip-proof property.
