  • Patent number: 6772484
Abstract: A high-strength mounting structure is used for attaching a resin article to a body panel. The resin molded article has an elongated main body and a pair of mount ribs formed in several spots intermittently in a longitudinal direction. A protrusion is provided at a distal end of each of the mount ribs. A clip has latch claws for engaging the protrusions of the mount ribs, and a slip-proof lug is located opposite to each latch claw to resist release the latch claws from the protrusions. In addition, the clip has an engagement section engaged with a body panel at a side facing the body panel.

  • Patent number: 6681543
Abstract: A reinforcement rib is provided at the reverse side of the elongated side molding in longitudinal direction and a portion of the reinforcement rib is elevated to form a welding rib. In the clip as an attachment member, a rib hole is provided for inserting the welding rib therein and the open side of the rib hole from which the welding rib is projecting is formed with a larger bore. The side molding body is integrally formed with the attachment member by housing a dislocation preventing portion formed by heat riveting a tip end of the welding rib inserted into the rib hole of the attachment member. Thus integrated side molding with the attachment member is attached to the outer panel of the vehicle by the leg portion provided at the attachment member.

  • Patent number: 6399168
Abstract: A decorative tape adhesive molding in which a decorative tape are integrally fusion-bonded to a molding body. A molding body forming material is a non-polar TPE composition, the decorative tape is constituted by a transparent film layer, a backing layer, and a decorative portion layer interposed therebetween. The backing layer forming material is a resin composition containing the same kind of resin polymer as a hard phase-forming polymer of the non-polar TPE or containing a resin polymer having a melting point of not lower than 100° C. and capable of being fusion-bonded to the hard phase-forming polymer of the non-polar TPE.

  • Patent number: 5752352
Abstract: An automobile window molding includes an elongated leg having an embedded core member, an outer head portion having a contact portion, an inner support portion, a seal lip and a position control portion. The molding is suited to position a window in a supporting window frame. The head portion is integrally formed at an upper end of the leg and extends over a portion of the front widow glass. The contact portion is defined by a projection positioned between the head portion and the inner support portion so as to touch the end surface of the front window glass. The inner support portion is formed at a lower end of the leg and is configured to touch an inner surface of the front window glass. The perimeter of the front window glass is held between the head portion and the inner support portion. At least one seal lip is formed on the leg so as to contact a window frame.

  • Patent number: 5262105
Abstract: Molding a hollow shaped body which has a skin made of a synthetic resin and a hollow portion therein by a mold block provided with a mold cavity in the shape of the hollow shaped body, a tub into which an excess amount of the synthetic resin can flow and a small flow path communicating between the mold cavity and the tub. The process includes forming the skin of the hollow shaped body by injecting a molten synthetic resin into the mold cavity to fill up the cavity. Thereafter, a gas is introduced into the injected synthetic resin to thereby form the hollow portion. The gas injection forces a part of the synthetic resin out of the mold cavity and into the tub through the small flow path.
