A ticket is generated for the request that indicates the resources. For each resource, a resource provider for the resource is queried to determine whether the resource can be acquired. The ticket is queued if any of the resources cannot be acquired. The ticket is granted if all of the resources can be acquired.

A request that an exception be raised at an instrumentation point is received. In response, a sink is configured to listen for the event associated with the instrumentation point. The sink is further configured to cause the exception to be raised to the program in response to receiving the event. The exception may be raised without modifying code of the program.
