  • Patent number: 10601054
Abstract: A bipolar plate is provided that comprises a flow field. The bipolar plate is part of a fuel cell and may comprise a chamber, such as a reactants accumulation chamber, on a first side of the bipolar plate. The flow field may comprise a plurality of holes, such as a jet array of impingement jet passages. The flow field may comprise a plurality of channels on a second side of the bipolar plate. The plurality of holes may be configured to conduct reactants from the first side of the bipolar plate to the second side of the bipolar plate to impinge on a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) of the fuel cell. The plurality of channels on the second side of the bipolar plate are configured to conduct a portion of the reactants and/or reaction products to an output hole and/or a channel.
    Type: Grant
