Patent number: 10425214Abstract: Scheduling and allocating resources in a millimeter wave communication system are performed by components of both the MAC and the RF front end acting in cooperation with one another. MAC components operate essential in accordance with the 802.11 standard. Signals at 2.4/5 GHz intermediate frequency (IF) output from an IF module are upconverted to an RF mmWave spectrum. The RF signals are routed to different subsector antennas and/or polarizations of a subsector antenna in order to direct the RF mmWave signal to a desired destination. Beamforming by the physical structures of antennas, direct the RF signals to a particular subsector. The combination of allocating resources within the MAC, processing within the MBI module before being upconverting to RF, together with signal switching of the RF signals, determines the destination to which signals are to be transmitted and the source from which signals are to be received.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2017Date of Patent: September 24, 2019Assignee: Skyriver Communications, Inc.Inventors: Saeid Safavi, Saeed Sarikhani Khorami

Publication number: 20190109661Abstract: A communication device includes statistical analysis module and interference mitigation circuitry. In some embodiments, statistical analysis module is configured to receive a set of standards-based channel information (SCI), such as a set of beamforming reports taken for a set of spatial streams, or a set of subscriber unit air quality information. The received SCI correspond to subscriber unit(s) in communication with a base station and operate at radio frequencies such as millimeter waves above 30 GHz. The statistical analysis module is configured to determine, from the received SCI, if communication between the base station and subscriber unit(s) is affected by interference, and determining the source and location of communication interference.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2017Publication date: April 11, 2019Inventors: Saeid Safavi, Saeed Sarikhani Khorami

Publication number: 20170272230Abstract: A microwave communication system may include subscriber stations in communication with a base station. The stations may include time duplex circuitry normally found in wireless local area networks (WLANs). Signals normally routed through antennas associated with such circuitry instead are routed through circuitry to perform frequency conversion to and from microwave communications frequencies, for communications over microwave links between the subscriber stations and the base station. In some embodiments the wireless circuitry is configured for multiple input multiple output (MIMO) operation with one antenna port dedicated for transmission of data and one antenna port dedicated to reception of data.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2016Publication date: September 21, 2017Inventor: Saeed Sarikhani Khorami
