  • Patent number: 11480955
Abstract: An approach for diagnosing degradations in performance and malfunctions in sensor networks is disclosed. This approach is based on so-called “fault signatures”. Such fault signatures are generated for known fault conditions through a statistical analysis process that results in each known fault having a unique fault signature. Such unique fault signatures can then point to the root cause of a problem.

Abstract: Various embodiments of a method and apparatus for diagnosing the status of a vehicle using cognitive SMART sensors are disclosed. The SMART sensors have at least some processing power directly associated with the sensor. The SMART sensor that include an artificial intelligence (AI) core are is tightly coupled to the sensor within the SMART sensor. The sensor may be an audio sensor, such as a high quality microphone, that can record sounds that emanate from of the vehicle. Such sounds may be associated with one or more of the components of the vehicle. The AI core analyzes the sounds that emanate from the vehicle to determine the operational status of the vehicle. • Publication number: 20220108160
Abstract: A reliable method and apparatus for communications over AC power lines that may have substantial interference is disclosed. A controller can be plugged into an AC outlet and communicate with a device plugged into any other AC outlet over the power lines within the facility. The controller may perform an analysis of the interference that is present on the power lines that run throughout the facility. In some cases, the particular path for power line signals can be selected to reduce the potential for interference. In some cases, the controller has a front end that comprises a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) module and a neural network. In addition, devices under the control of the controller may have neural networks that can be used in combination to form a collaborative neural network.

  • Publication number: 20210256712
Abstract: An image processing system comprising several drones flown over a geographic region is disclosed. In some embodiments, the geographic region is within the cell coverage area of a cellular transmission tower. In some embodiments, the cellular transmission tower is capable of communicating over a cellular telephone network with a cellular telephone transceiver within a lead drone. In some such embodiments, one or more of the drones has a camera capable of taking a relatively high resolution photograph of the earth and the features on the earth below the drones. The area of the earth that the camera can capture may include the area directly under each of the other drones. The image can then be compared to other images. Using image recognition algorithms, the processor can identify a target asset and track the target asset based on the comparison of images.

  • Patent number: 10679481
Abstract: Systems and methods having a local processor at the extreme edge of an environmental monitoring/control system are disclosed. A sensor is provided in close proximity to the processing module. The processing module is a relatively simple processor capable of detecting the occurrence of one particular event, or a limited number of particular events. The processing is done with a relatively simple neural network. Processing module outputs indicate that a particular event has occurred. The processing module includes a memory into which values can be loaded that are determined by “pre-training” for use with the processing module. The downloading and use of such pre-trained values allows the processing module to efficiently detect particular events for which the values were pre-trained.

  • Patent number: 10425214
Abstract: Scheduling and allocating resources in a millimeter wave communication system are performed by components of both the MAC and the RF front end acting in cooperation with one another. MAC components operate essential in accordance with the 802.11 standard. Signals at 2.4/5 GHz intermediate frequency (IF) output from an IF module are upconverted to an RF mmWave spectrum. The RF signals are routed to different subsector antennas and/or polarizations of a subsector antenna in order to direct the RF mmWave signal to a desired destination. Beamforming by the physical structures of antennas, direct the RF signals to a particular subsector. The combination of allocating resources within the MAC, processing within the MBI module before being upconverting to RF, together with signal switching of the RF signals, determines the destination to which signals are to be transmitted and the source from which signals are to be received.
