  • Patent number: 5105054
Abstract: For purposes of protecting electrical installations in airplanes against electromagnetic disturbances and especially against overvoltages as can occur for instance as a consequence of a lightning strike, the electrical lines between the individual electrical devices are laid in flexible profiled tubes consisting of electrically conducting material and are rotatably connected with junction elements arranged on one side. At the same time the tubes are connected by means of these junction elements to charge dissipation points provided at the electrical devices. The lines laid in this manner are arranged in overbraiding of plastic material by way of chafing protection. In another embodiment, the chafing protection is provided by a plastic layer on the inside of the profiled tube. In still another embodiment, the chafing protection is itself a hose fabricated of fiber material.

  • Patent number: 5091604
Abstract: For purposes of protecting electrical installations against electromagnetic disturbances, especially overvoltages, for instance, as a consequence of lightning strikes, wiring lines laid for connecting individual electrical apparatus are surrounded by a shielding, which is formed by a braiding, consisting of electrically conducting material and which is in connection with connector elements arranged at its ends. The connector elements, as well as an additionally provided terminal, branching and attachment elements, comprise, respectively, a transitional part over which the braiding is pulled and on which it is fastened by means of a clamping element. In addition, further sheaths of a plastic braiding are provided between the electrical shielding and the electrical lines.

  • Patent number: 5074805
Abstract: A terminal case for straight or angled off cable configuration as it extends from a plug connector, particularly for use in aircraft, is provided to have an integral or separate threaded ring and a transition piece of open cross section having sector-like contour, the sector angle decreases away from the ring towards a cable catch. The purpose thereof is to increase the strength of the configuration so that even if the parts are made of synthetic, strength values become comparable with known terminal cases made of metal.

  • Patent number: 4972165
Abstract: An electrical structural component including a relay and connection contacts for connecting electrical components of the relay with respective electrical conductors of a switching or energizing circuit and at least one operating circuit, is equipped with a connector mounting plate that can be inserted into a relay housing. Connector bushings and securing or locking elements which may be part of the bushings, for the mounting and fixation of contact pins are arranged in the connector mounting plate. The connector bushings are constructed as carriers for the spring contacts operated in the relay and simultaneously as connector arms for the fixed contacts. The contact pins are connected to respective conductors.

  • Patent number: 4949061
Abstract: An electromechanical relay for the activation of at least one operating circuit, has an activator (10, 110) for example in the form of a helix made of a material having form-restoring or shape memory properties. A reset element (17, 117) holds the actuator in a distorted position opposite to that of its original position as long as an electrical heating current does not flow through the actuator. When the heating current, also referred to as switching current, is passing through the actuator, the latter returns to its original position or shape against the force of the reset spring thereby activating, through an operating member, a number of contact pairs of an operating circuit.

  • Patent number: 4752998
Abstract: A process and device for attachment of identification plates to an electrical distributor component, initially interconnected plates forming strips that can be inserted into the device, which has at least one storage groove and from which, by means of a thumbpiece 6, a plate can be introduced into a receiving groove in the distributor component. The plates themselves have a narrowed guide portion which facilitates finding the storage groove.

  • Patent number: 4715571
Abstract: A plurality of electrical conductors or cables are held in place by a cirar member, such as a ring or disk, or by two ring or disk elements forming a pair, to form a conductor or cable bunch. For this purpose a plurality of recesses are provided in the circumferential zone of the ring or disk, for holding a conductor or cable in place in each recess. The recesses in the ring or disk are closed by a rim section. The ring or disk elements have recess forming fingers or pieces which can be rotated into preliminary and final positions with an increased clamping force in the final position. In all embodiments the cable or conductors are held in place by a proper biasing force. The costs for forming cable or conductor bunches and for their final installation have been substantially reduced.

  • Patent number: 4660787
Abstract: A food supply system is adapted for installation in an aircraft having an upper and a lower deck. A pantry is located on the upper deck. A food supply carts carrying platform is arranged on the lower deck for cooperation with the pantry on the upper deck. A lifting mechanism is arranged for cooperation with the platform for lifting or lowering selectively any one of a plurality of food supply carts whereby the space requirements on each deck are optimally reduced.

  • Patent number: 4653842
Abstract: A block type electrical terminal connector, especially for use in aircraft nd spacecraft, has a pot-shaped housing of electrically insulating material permanently closed at its bottom and closable at its open top by a cover. A single piece contact bank for connecting groups of contact pins together, that is to the same potential, is made of a band of sheet metal, so that contact elements, contact pin retainers and arresting members form integral components of the single piece contact bank which is inserted into the open top of the housing and held in the housing by the cooperation of locking shoulders in the housing with the arresting members of the single piece contact bank, whereby the contact bank is retained in the housing even without the cover closing the housing. This construction substantially reduces the number of connector parts and simplifies the structure and assembly of the connector.

  • Patent number: 4564255
Abstract: A strain relief device for a multipole electrical plug connector, is constructed for holding a bunch of conductors either axially or at a right angle to its main axis. The device is also simplified in its structure so that the manufacture of its components and their assembly is facilitated. The device has a cap nut with a radially inwardly extending flange, and a housing with a radially outwardly facing circumferential channel. The housing has a through slot in its wall for temporarily and elastically compressing the housing radially inwardly so that the channel may engage the flange of the cap nut which is then locked in place, but rotatable relative to the housing. The flange either directly or indirectly helps compressing a sealing member in the connector proper. A conductor bundle holder includes a bail which can be secured to the housing in several different positions for holding a bundle of conductors either to extend axially or at an angle out of the housing.
