Abstract: Described are systems and methods for automatically scoring a table tennis game. In particular, a system for automatically scoring a table tennis game may include a sensor, a microcontroller, a display, a speaker, a table tennis net support, and/or a power supply. Methods for automatically scoring a table tennis game comprise indicating that a serve may proceed; detecting a vibration or absence of a vibration formed by contact between a table tennis ball with a table tennis table and/or between a table tennis ball and a table tennis net; determining which player served; determining if a point should be awarded based on detecting a vibration or absence of vibration; modifying the score of a table tennis game; displaying the score of a table tennis game; determining if a sensor is operational; and/or playing a sound effect.

Abstract: Certain embodiments comprise a table tennis table having a table tennis surface defined by two table halves and separated by a net. Each table half has an upper playing surface, a width defined between opposing side edges and a player end arranged along the width. In one embodiment, the table tennis table includes a ball storage rack having a length mounted along the width of at least one table half adjacent the player end, wherein the ball storage rack is configured to support a plurality of table tennis balls. The ball storage rack defines a gap along its length, wherein the gap faces outward from the player end and has a size sufficient to allow table tennis balls to be selectively removed through the gap.

Abstract: A game system comprises a base game-playing structure and at least two target surfaces each defining at least one target zone and depicting different projectile-passing games. The target surfaces are engageable with the base game-playing structure in one or more substantially vertical orientations and configured to receive passed projectiles. The system also includes at least one sensor engaged with the base game-playing structure. The target zone is positioned at a location on the target surface which is aligned with the sensor. The sensor is configured to detect the presence of a projectile at the target zone. The system may also include an electronic display configured to display the status of the game being played with the game system, and an electronic controller configured to receive signals from the sensor and coupled to the electronic display to reflect the status of the game.

Abstract: A game table has a game playing surface and a railing extending around the perimeter of the game playing surface. The railing extends at least slightly above the game playing surface to prevent escape of a game playing piece from the game playing surface and has a top surface. The game table includes a score display unit having a display screen, the display unit being at least partially mounted within the railing. The display screen is moveable between a first flat or hidden position and a second observable display position. At the display position, at least part of the display screen is projected above the top surface of the railing.

The game table assembly further includes at least one corner bracket pivotally mounted to either the corresponding end section or the game table such that the corner bracket may be horizontally pivoted into and out of selective locking engagement to prevent rotation of the game table and thereby selectively lock the game table in the desired orientation with the desired one of the game playing surfaces facing upward.
