  • Publication number: 20240180881
Abstract: The present disclosure shows that a stretch of 32 amino acids in BLM interacts with RAD54 and this interaction contributes to resistance against chemotherapeutic drugs such as cisplatin, camptothecin, oxaliplatin, etc. in cancer cells. The present disclosure provides an inhibitor of BML-RAD54 interaction as an adjunct therapy for treating cancer in a patient, wherein the patient is receiving primary chemotherapy. In some embodiments, the inhibitor of BML-RAD54 interaction is selected from Azaguanine-8, Allantoin, Acetazolamide, Metformin, Atracurum, Prednisone, Dipyridamole, Metronidazole, Khellin, Apomorphine, Naloxone, Bromocryptine, Glipizide, Verapamil, Erythromycin, Chloroxine, Loxapine, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, or a combination thereof.

  • Publication number: 20230407401
Abstract: The present invention related to microRNA (miR) signatures also called DNA damage sensitive miRs (DDSMs) which responds to the levels of DNA damage. The present invention provides method for identification of DDSMs which are upregulated by a common transcription factor (CDX2). Further, the present invention also provides miR inhibitors along with nanoparticle or hydrogel or adenoviral based delivery system for administering the same and kits comprising the same. The microRNA (miR) signature of the present invention can be used as biological markers to detect earliest stages of cancers particularly colon cancers. The present invention also provides a method of treatment of other types of cancer and related diseases.

  • Publication number: 20120122085
Abstract: The present invention discloses a functional interaction of the p53 with RECQL4/RECQL4 variant. The present invention further discloses co localization of RECQL4/RECQL4 variant and p53 complex in the mitochondrial nucleoids. The MLS at the N-terminus of RECQL4 that binds to Tom 20 receptor complex and transport RECQL4/RECQL4 variant-p53 complex into the mitochondria has been identified. Further the invention discloses measurement of intracellular ROS, identification of mtDNA mutations as a diagnostic tool for RTS and treatment with ascorbic acid for scavenging ROS and as treatment for RTS.
