Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for optimizing phase detection autofocus (PDAF) processing are provided. One aspect provides an apparatus comprising: an image sensor configured to capture image data of a scene; a buffer; and a processor. The processor may be configured to store the image data in the buffer as a current frame and divide the current frame into a plurality of windows each corresponding to a different spatial region of the scene. The processor may be further configured to identify a central portion of the current frame comprising a subset of the plurality of windows. The processor may be further configured to determine a depth value of the central portion based on performing PDAF on the subset of the plurality of windows and determine a confidence value for the central portion based on the depth value and image data corresponding to the subset of the plurality of windows.

  • Publication number: 20180208190
Abstract: Example collision avoidance systems and methods are described. In one implementation, a method receives data from multiple sensors mounted to a first vehicle. A collision avoidance system determines a likelihood that a second vehicle will collide with the back of the first vehicle based on the received data. If a collision is likely, the method identifies open space near the first vehicle and determines a best action to avoid or mitigate the likely collision based on the identified open space.

  • Patent number: 10032524
Abstract: Techniques are presented for the determination defects in non-volatile arrays, particularly those having a 3D or BiCS type of arrangement where NAND strings run in a vertical direction relative to the substrate. In such an arrangement, the NAND strings are formed along memory holes and connected to global bit lines, and are separated into blocks or sub-blocks by vertical local interconnects, such as for source lines, and connected to a corresponding global line. To determine defective blocks, a reference current is determined based on the amount of current drawn by the local interconnects when a high voltage is applied and all of the blocks are de-selected. The amount of leakage current is determined when a selected block is biased to ground and the high voltage is applied to the interconnects. By comparing the reference current to the leakage current, a determination can be made on whether the selected block has defects related to the local interconnect structure.

  • Patent number: 10027491
Abstract: Disclosed are approaches for distributing credentials using derived credentials, such as by relaying a simple certificate enrollment protocol (SCEP) payload. A computing device configures a device profile corresponding to a client device. The device profile can include a SCEP payload. The computing device later receives an override for the SCEP payload from a broker service. In response, the computing device creates a copy of the device profile that includes the override for the SCEP payload. The computing device then sends the copy of the device profile to the client device.

  • Publication number: 20180197322
Abstract: Systems and methods for image retargeting are provided. Image data may be acquired that includes motion capture data indicative of motion of a plurality of markers disposed on a surface of a first subject. Each of the markers may be associated with a respective location on the first subject. A plurality of blendshapes may be calculated for the motion capture data based on a configuration of the markers. An error function may be identified for the plurality of blendshapes, and it may be determined that the plurality of blendshapes can be used to retarget a second subject based on the error function. The plurality of blendshapes may then be applied to a second subject to generate a new animation.

  • Publication number: 20180173959
Abstract: Various embodiments calculate a score for each frame of a video segment based on various subject-related factors associated with a subject (e.g., face or other object) captured in a frame relative to corresponding factors of the subject in other frames of the video segment. A highest-scoring frame from the video segment can then be extracted based on a comparison of the score of each frame of the video segment with the score of each other frame of the video segment, and the extracted frame can be transcoded as an image for display via a display device. The score calculation, extraction, and transcoding actions are performed automatically and without user intervention, which improves previous approaches that use a primarily manual, tedious, and time consuming approach.

  • Publication number: 20180167812
Abstract: A method of granting access to a wireless network is provided allowing approval by a trusted authenticator. The method includes receiving a request to join a wireless network at a gateway from a client device, determining with the gateway whether the client device is within a predefined trusted zone, sending a notification of a potential new connection with the client device from the gateway to the trusted authenticator. The trusted authenticator then provides a response regarding the potential new connection, wherein the gateway denies network access to the client device when the gateway determines that the client device is outside the trusted zone or when the response from the trusted authenticator rejects the potential new connection, and wherein the gateway grants network access to the client device when the gateway determines that the client device is inside the trusted zone and when the response from the trusted authenticator approves the potential new connection.
