  • Patent number: 11962460
Abstract: An end-to-end service delivery system provides customers representing mobile network and enterprise operators with an online repository for services that are created from virtual network functions, and which are available from multiple service creators and operable across infrastructure underlying the customer's software-defined networking-based mobile network including diverse private, public, and hybrid cloud platforms. The network functions delivery system provides a user interface (UI) exposing a catalog of differentiated services of varying types. When the customer selects a service from the catalog, the service delivery system uses an installation engine to deploy the selected service on the customer's mobile network. The system provides a lifecycle management and orchestration engine that orchestrates the deployed service on an end-to-end basis across domains and network platforms.

  • Patent number: 11889318
Abstract: Systems and methods provide reliable voice connections dual-connectivity environments, given limitations of available spectrum. A system includes a first wireless station and a second wireless station. The first wireless station provides a shared spectrum of a first frequency band, the shared spectrum including a first spectrum for a first cellular wireless standard and a second spectrum for a second cellular wireless standard. The second wireless station is at least partially within a coverage area of the first wireless station and provides a third spectrum for the second cellular wireless standard. The third spectrum is a millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum. The first wireless station broadcasts a parameter barring an end device in an idle mode from camping on the second spectrum. The first wireless station or the second wireless station triggers the end device to swap to the second spectrum when a paging request for a voice call is received.

  • Patent number: 11877177
Abstract: A device may receive data indicating a required quality of service (QoS), and may receive radio access network (RAN) information associated with a RAN, wherein the RAN information is provided by a centralized unit (CU) of the RAN. The device may provide the RAN information to a multi-access edge computing (MEC) platform, and may receive, from the MEC platform, a QoS request that requests the required QoS. The device may provide the QoS request to the CU, and may receive a QoS response to the QoS request. The device may provide the QoS response to a policy control function (PCF) of a core network, and may receive an indication of approval of the QoS response from the PCF. The device may cause, based on receiving the indication of approval, the required QoS to be implemented by the MEC platform and network devices associated with the core network.

  • Publication number: 20230350708
Abstract: A system for dynamically creating datacenters is provided, which creates on-demand datacenters where and when they are needed by federating the memory and processing power of subscribing devices into “cloudlets.” A cloudlet may serve as an on-demand datacenter, based on the combined storage, memory, and compute resources of a plurality of federated computing devices, for processing workloads of tenants in proximity to the cloudlet. Depending on the combination of federated devices, cloudlets may provide different levels of on-demand computing resources to a variety of applications. Due to proximity of the datacenter to the demand, latency is reduced; and due to combined computing power of multiple distributed devices, demand can be met with a smaller physical footprint and reduced energy requirements.

  • Publication number: 20230318986
Abstract: A dynamic offloading system is provided, which monitors resource demand by one or more applications executing on an on-prem server and supply of curated cloud space on one or more registered cloud service providers to automatically create an instance and offload applications associated with spikes in the resource demand. The curated cloud space may be preconfigured for specific processing and/or more general processing. For instance, the curated cloud space may be preconfigured for offloading service applications associated with mobile traffic, which may include specific resource requirements, time or service constraints, provisioning, testing or validation. Additionally, the curated cloud space may be preconfigured for offloading websites or databases, which may have more generalized resource requirements, provisioning, testing or validation.

  • Patent number: 11736578
Abstract: A server of a mobile network operator (MNO) executes network control logic for unbundling vertically integrated software on specialized hardware equipment, referred to here as a host. For example, the server performs a handshake with the host, and establishes an encrypted channel. The server then negotiates with the host, and determines those interfaces that the host will expose to third party software. The server, based on a current need of the MNO for a network service, compares the negotiation results with contents of a smart library. If the smart library does not have a registered and suitable app for the network service, the server obtains metadata corresponding to the app from a software supplier. The server then, for example, tests the metadata on a mockup of the host, under the control of the server. The host eventually runs the app, providing the network service without requiring an entire software revision of the host.

  • Publication number: 20230230001
Abstract: The techniques described herein provide a system for executing a service that helps cloud resource providers manage unused cloud resources. Moreover, the service helps cloud resource consumers identify an optimal cloud platform to select for execution of an application. The service aggregates cloud resource information from multiple cloud providers and stores the cloud resource information in a data structure. The service then accesses the data structure to generate cloud resource offerings that can be published for review by different consumers. This process enables the consumers to see and compare cloud resource information, aggregated from multiple different cloud providers, in a single place (e.g., a complete and comprehensive user interface view into cloud resource information). More importantly, a consumer can make an efficient and informed decision as to which cloud provider and cloud platform to use for execution of an application.

  • Publication number: 20230214274
Abstract: A method for application orchestration and management in a hybrid applications environment that comprises both VNF applications and CNF applications can include receiving an application descriptor that describes features of a new application to be deployed. A determination can be made, based at least in part on the application descriptor, whether the new application should be deployed as a VNF application or as a CNF application. The new application can be deployed as a VNF application when the application descriptor indicates that the new application should be deployed as a VNF application and when the available VNF infrastructure is sufficient to deploy the new VNF application. Conversely, the new application can be deployed as a CNF application when the application descriptor indicates that the new application should be deployed as a CNF application and when the available CNF infrastructure is sufficient to deploy the new CNF application.
