Abstract: A method for enabling a display of application-related information and execution of a corresponding application, on a lock screen is provided. The method includes displaying a lock screen including a region in which a plurality of executable objects are arranged and an information display region having a restricted viewing range with respect to the plurality of executable objects, when user input for activation of a portable device is detected, and changing the information according to the user input and displaying the changed information or executing the application of the corresponding executable object. Thus, the method enables a user to confirm the plurality of executable objects and the information related to the plurality of executable objects by showing the plurality of executable objects and the outline information related to the plurality of objects on the lock screen, and can provide an intuitive user experience (UX) by providing the lock screen.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and systems for interlinking applications/apparatuses are described. In one method herein, a terminal apparatus displays a User Interface (UI) screen of an operable/running application from among the applications stored on the terminal apparatus. When metadata is input into the operable/running application corresponding to the displayed UI screen, an application which is interlinked with the operable/running application is provided with all or some of the metadata which was input into the operable/running application.

Abstract: A mobile device, a method for displaying a screen thereof, a wearable device, a method for driving the same, and a computer-readable recording medium are provided. The mobile device operating with a wearable device includes a display configured to display a private screen which is personalized to a user after authentication of the wearable device based on at least one of a user state and an operational state of the mobile device and a controller configured to control the display to display the private screen after the authentication.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for transmitting data to an external device are provided. The method includes establishing a communication link with the external device by using a first application, and displaying a first window that corresponds to the first application, in response to an execution request for a second application that is different from the first application, displaying a second window that corresponds to the second application as a background of the first window, receiving a sharing mode request via the first window, and in response to the sharing mode request, setting an operation mode of the device as a sharing mode, and transmitting data that is provided from the second application to the external device via the communication link.

Accordingly, renderer operations can be easily controlled.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for displaying and operating a menu in a cross manner. The method of displaying a menu includes displaying a group of menu item lists including a plurality of menu items in a cross shape, and performing functions corresponding to the menu items located at an intersection when a selection command is input. Accordingly, a user is provided with a preview showing a result obtained when a menu item is selected. In addition, the user can select a plurality of menu items while previewing the menu items.

A computer readable recording medium storing a program can be used for performing the method. The method of displaying a menu includes selecting a menu item from an upper menu, obtaining an amount of information related to a lower menu or contents corresponding to the selected upper menu item, displaying a connecting object visually showing a relationship between the upper menu and the lower menu or the contents, and displaying the lower menu or the contents and a motion moving at a speed determined according to the amount of information.
