  • Publication number: 20230196851
Abstract: A system for monitoring the wear rates of agricultural implements may include an agricultural implement having ground-engaging tools configured to work a field area, at least one wear sensor configured to generate data indicative of wear of one or more of the ground-engaging tools, and a computing system communicatively coupled to the at least one wear sensor. The computing system may determine a first wear rate of the one or more of the ground-engaging tools based at least in part on the data indicative of the wear of the one or more of the ground-engaging tools and to compare the first wear rate to a threshold wear rate. Additionally, the computing system may perform a control action when a differential between the first wear rate and the threshold wear rate exceeds a wear rate differential threshold.

  • Publication number: 20230180650
Abstract: An agricultural implement includes a sensor supported on the frame. The sensor, in turn, is configured to emit output signals for refection off of a field surface of a field and detect reflections of the output signals as return signals. Moreover, the agricultural implement includes a computing system communicatively coupled to the sensor. In this respect, the computing system configured to receive data associated with the detected reflections from the sensor and fit a line or plane to received data. In addition, the computing system is configured to determine at least one of an orientation of the frame or a distance between the frame and the field surface based on the fitted line or plane.

  • Patent number: 11503756
Abstract: In one aspect, a system for determining soil levelness as an agricultural implement is being towed across a field by a work vehicle may include a vision-based sensor configured to capture vision data associated with a portion of the field present within a field of view of the vision-based sensor. A controller of the system may be configured to receive, from the vision-based sensor, the vision data associated with the portion of the field present within the field of view of the vision-based sensor. Additionally, the controller may be configured to determine a soil levelness of the portion of the field present within the field of view of the vision-based sensor based on a spectral analysis of the received vision data.

  • Patent number: 11200654
Abstract: In one aspect, a system for determining field characteristics during the performance of an agricultural operation may include an imaging device configured to capture image data associated with a portion of the field within a field of view of the imaging device. The system may also include an illumination device configured to emit a light directed at the portion of the field within the field of view of the imaging device. Furthermore, a controller of the system may be configured to control an operation of the illumination device such that a light pattern is displayed on a field surface of the field. Moreover, the controller may be configured to receive image data indicative of the displayed light pattern from the imaging device. Additionally, the controller may be configured to determine a field characteristic of the field based on the displayed light pattern.
