    Abstract: A method of making a thermoplastic composition is disclosed, comprising adding a poly(arylene ether) to a feedthroat of an extruder, adding a polyamide to the extruder downstream of the feedthroat, adding a first masterbatch comprising a polyamide and a carbon black to the extruder downstream of the feedthroat, and adding a second masterbatch comprising a polyamide and a mineral filler to the extruder downstream of the feedthroat. Also disclosed is a composition comprising a poly(arylene ether), polyamide, carbon black, and mineral filler made by this method.
