    Abstract: The invention disclosed provides new improved liquid detergent-germicide compositions and a method of using same. Generally, anti-microbially active alpha-halogenated fatty acid is combined with an anionic surface active agent and a monobasic and/or hydroxy monobasic organic acid. In a preferred embodiment, the anti-microbially active alpha-halogenated fatty acid is an alpha-brominated fatty acid.
