  • Patent number: 11078743
Abstract: A swellable packer comprises an elastomeric element and a mandrel extending through the elastomeric element. The elastomeric element is formed of an elastomer which undergoes swelling following contact with certain types of well fluids. The elastomeric element is sealed with respect to the mandrel and may be located along an undercut region of the mandrel. Additionally, the mandrel has an interior passage extending longitudinally through the mandrel and offset with respect to an external geometry of the mandrel. Accordingly, the mandrel is effectively constructed with relatively thicker and thinner wall sections. The thicker wall section or sections accommodates at least one bypass conduit which extends longitudinally through the mandrel.

  • Publication number: 20150211335
Abstract: A well completion includes a downhole steam generator (DSG) having a water inlet and a discharge to convey a hot effluent away from the DSG, a stinger having an inner mandrel forming a stinger bore in communication with the discharge and an outer mandrel carrying a seal element, and a passage located between the inner mandrel and the outer mandrel to circulate a cooling fluid from an inlet port to an outlet port. The outlet port may be in communication with the water inlet of the DSG or the stinger bore.

  • Publication number: 20150041129
Abstract: A completion for steam injection and production includes a production tubing connected to the stinger, a downhole steam generator (DSG) having a discharge connected to the production tubing through an inverted Y-tool, a fuel supply tubing extending between the DSG and a surface fuel supply and an air supply tubing extending between the DSG and a surface fuel supply. The completion can have an artificial lift device incorporated in the production tubing.
