  • Publication number: 20080077029
Abstract: A system, method and computer executable code for generating a likelihood of cardiovascular disease from acquired cardiovascular sound signals is disclosed, where the generated likelihood of cardiovascular disease is based at least on an overlapping in time of bruit candidates in one heart cycle or in different heart cycles. Also disclosed is a system, method, and computer executable code for collecting, forwarding, and analyzing cardiovascular sound signals, where the collecting and analyzing may occur at locations that are remote from each other. Further disclosed is a system, method, and computer executable code for determining the time and phase information contained in cardiovascular sound signals, for use in analyzing those cardiovascular sound signals.

  • Publication number: 20060020220
Abstract: A method and system for modeling cardiovascular disease using a probability regression model is provided. A parameter estimate of a probability regression model for cardiovascular disease can be generated using predictors derived from cardiovascular sound signals and disease status information. A probability of cardiovascular disease can be generated using a probability regression model that includes a predictor derived from cardiovascular sound signals.

  • Publication number: 20010039383
Abstract: An apparatus, operation and method for measurement of systemic and/or pulmonic blood pressure. The present invention offers a passive non-invasive method and system that can be used where measurement of systemic pressure with a traditional blood pressure cuff is contraindicated. The present invention also affords a means for early diagnosis and opportunity for intervention in patients with no symptoms or signs of elevated pulmonary blood pressure that can be performed as part of a routine physical exam. The present invention accomplishes this non-invasive measurement through detection, identification and characterization of the second heart sound acoustic signature associated with heart valve closure. An apparatus for measuring systemic and/or pulmonic blood pressure in accordance with the present invention includes a sensor assembly comprising a housing, an electronic module, a shock dampener, a mounting means, a transducer, an acoustic coupling and a back cover.

  • Patent number: 6053872
Abstract: An apparatus, operation and method for the noninvasive diagnosis of cardiovascular disease or disorder through angiosonospectrography. Through implementation of the present invention physiological signals relating to the heart and associated blood vessels are detected, processed and identified, allowing for the early diagnosis of cardiovascular disease or disorder. An apparatus for diagnosing cardiovascular disease or disorder in accordance with the present invention includes a sensor assembly comprising a housing, and electronic module, a shock dampener, a mounting means, a piezoelectric transducer, an acoustic coupling and a back cover. The sensor assembly is connected to a data acquisition module which in turn is connected to a signal processing means, a remote connection means and a monitor. An improved acoustic coupling is disclosed that provides low-loss acoustic transmission coupling between the skin of the patient and the detector.

  • Patent number: 4190832
Abstract: A windshield indicia display system utilizing a liquid crystal display in conjunction with a polarizing filter element and semi-transparent reflective tape element to form a unique optical system capable of projecting in digital format a virtual image into the visual field of the operator. This virtual image, focused at infinity, utilizes the unmodified windshield as a remote polarizer for this unique optical system. Electronic means are provided to convert vehicle speed or other indicia into a decimal format capable of digital display by the system.
