  • Patent number: 12783393
Abstract: The method and system for improved detection of accessibility issues in Web interfaces is presented. The method includes capturing a rendered screenshot of a web page into a browser-controlled environment and a structured representation of a document object model (DOM); computing, by executing a trained detection model, one or more visual patterns from the rendered screenshot, the trained detection model outputting visual detections that include bounding boxes and visual pattern labels; constructing a mapping between at least one bounding box and a corresponding DOM element; determining, for at least one DOM element, a semantic pattern using a DOM-based semantic classifier that reads accessibility-related metadata; detecting a component root for a UI component corresponding to the at least one DOM element; and executing, by a component testing system, an accessibility test suite corresponding to an identified pattern for the UI component, and recording accessibility issues associated with the UI component.
