Patent number: 11987358Abstract: Towplate units and assemblies are disclosed for airborne extraction of a cargo load. The towplate unit includes an extraction and jettison links having a pair of spaced-apart parallel extraction and jettison link arms and an extraction and jettison cross-connector extending between and rigidly joining the extraction and jettison link arms, respectively. A locking system removably locks the jettison link to the extraction link to thereby allow the jettison link to be removed from the extraction link when unlocked. A towplate assembly is also provided which includes a towplate unit removably assembled with a deck plate and an actuator control assembly operatively interconnected to the towplate unit so as to cause the towplate unit to separate from the deck plate during a normal cargo deployment condition or to cause the jettison link to separate from the extraction link of the towplate unit during an aborted cargo deployment condition.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2022Date of Patent: May 21, 2024Assignee: EMBRAER S.A.Inventors: Heron Medeiros De Souza, Saint Clair Trisotto, Marcos Antônio Batista Goncalves, Guilherme Augusto Garcia Borges, Vinicius Mira Santos, Torben Allert

Patent number: 11299251Abstract: Retractable guide assemblies are provided to guide cargo load pallets onto a cargo deck of a cargo aircraft, the guide assembly having a support subassembly comprising a recessed housing box, a moveable guide subassembly pivotally connected to the support subassembly so as to be pivotally moveable relative thereto, and an actuator subassembly operatively interconnecting the moveable guide subassembly and the support subassembly. The actuator subassembly may thereby allow the moveable guide subassembly to be pivotally moveable between (i) a releasably locked stowed condition, (ii) a releasably locked deployed condition and (iii) a freely moveable unlocked maintenance condition.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2019Date of Patent: April 12, 2022Assignee: EMBRAER S.A.Inventors: Mario Tadeu Crema Junior, Saint Clair Trisotto, Guilherme Peneluppi Corrêa, Guilherme Barbosa de Sousa

Patent number: 10994843Abstract: Aircraft cargo lock assemblies are capable of positionally restraining movement of a cargo load pallet in both vertical and horizontal planes relative to the cargo deck of the aircraft. According to certain embodiments, the lock assemblies will include an actuator case and a restraint element which comprises at least one restraint plate and restraint detent, the restraint element being connected to the actuator case for pivotal movements between locked and released conditions relative to an edge of a cargo load pallet positioned on a cargo deck of an aircraft so as to positionally restrain the cargo load pallet against movement in both vertical and horizontal planes relative to the cargo deck. An actuator assembly is operably connected to the restraint element for moving the restraint element between the locked and released conditions thereof.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2019Date of Patent: May 4, 2021Assignee: EMBRAER S.A.Inventors: Mario Tadeu Crema Junior, Saint Clair Trisotto, Carlos Rogulski Filho, Guilherme Peneluppi Correa, Douglas de Moura Germano, Jean Carlo de Carvalho Kruger

Patent number: 10745100Abstract: Counterbalance assemblies include a torsion bar spring for counter-balancing the weight of upwardly opening aircraft doors for ease of opening and closing. The torsion bar spring may be linked to the aircraft door through an integrated gear reduction system comprised of two pairs of spur gears and respective shafts as well as a linkage assembly. A cable reel is connected to the output shaft and the input shaft is connected to a four bar linkage system attached to the end of the torsion bar. The cable reel stores the lift cable and provides the output torque to lift the aircraft door. When the aircraft door opens or closes, the center of mass loses or gains height respectively, causing a variation of gravitational potential energy. In such a manner, the gravitational potential energy is exchanged with strain elastic energy from the counter-balance spring therefore reducing the required external source of energy whether it is from a power assisted means or manual operation.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 2017Date of Patent: August 18, 2020Assignee: EMBRAER S.A.Inventors: Oberdan Martins Silva, Saint Clair Trisotto, Brian Admas Linhares, Jorge Toshio Hashimoto, Paulo Junio Sacramento Horta Moreira, Ricardo Pamplona Lang

Patent number: 10507919Abstract: Longitudinal lock devices for cargo in aircraft having a locking box fastened beneath the floor of an aircraft include a locking latch connectable to the cargo and coupled to a bar mechanism disposed inside the locking box. The locking latch is moveable in a direction towards extraction of the cargo in flight. The bar mechanism is fixed to the locking box and includes a puppet arm articulated on a second pivot wand a puppet follower articulated on a first pivot, whereby each of the pivots is operably fastened to the locking box (9). The puppet arm comprises a cam profile on a face there of which is cooperative with a puppet roller connected to an electro-mechanical actuator linear by means of a drive rod. The articulations moving the bar mechanism responsively determine locked, armed and released positions for the device.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2016Date of Patent: December 17, 2019Assignee: EMBRAER S.A.Inventors: Saint Clair Trisotto, João Carlos Livoratti, Douglas de Moura Germano, Mário Sérgio Candelária Bernardes Batista, Emanuel das Neves Rosa, Fábio Henrique Massuia Dos Santos, Reinaldo Sawaguchi Kolososki
