  • Patent number: 9240099
Abstract: A simulator reproduces a game running on an electronic gaming machine using a model that implements the game rules and logic of the game. The electronic gaming machine stops at predetermined breakpoints during execution of a game session and sends data to the simulator at each breakpoint and at a conclusion of the game session. The data may include random number values, other game variables, and the result of the game session. The simulator uses the data to independently reproduce the game session. Output from the simulator is used to verify the state of internal variables and/or the result received from the electronic gaming machine.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 11, 2013
Date of Patent: January 19, 2016
    Assignee: Bally Gaming, Inc.
Inventors: Paul Trotter, Saji Lazar, Joshuah Jacob
  • Patent number: 9053607
Abstract: A test tool provides a flexible resource for control an of electronic gaming machine (EGM) via a data network. The test tool provides both interactive and automated access to the EGM when the EGM is operated using a special diagnostic BIOS that supports both communication with the test tool over the data network and the ability to set operational variables including random numbers. The test tool can use structured data test scripts, such as XML files, to automate repetitive testing of one or more gaming machines by automating breakpoint setting, variable settings, and comparison of expected results based on game type, paytables, currency, etc.
