  • Publication number: 20240133272
Abstract: A downhole tractor assembly includes tubular main body configured such that a central axis of the main body is parallel with an axis of a tubing string when the tool is disposed in the tubing string. The tractor assembly includes a fluid flow passage within the main body, a turbine disposed in the flow passage, an alternator disposed in the main body and configured to convert the rotation of the turbine into electricity, one or more wheels extending radially at least partially from an exterior surface of the main body, and one or more electric motors configured to, when actuated by electricity from the alternator, drive rotation of the one or more wheels. The tractor assembly is configured to attach to a tubular string disposed in a wellbore, such that fluid flowed through the tubular string flows through the fluid passage and rotates the turbine.

  • Patent number: 11613962
Abstract: A wellbore assembly includes a wellbore string configured to be disposed within a wellbore. The wellbore assembly also includes a float collar coupled to a downhole end of the wellbore string. The float collar includes a housing, a check valve, and a sleeve. The housing includes a fluid outlet. The housing defines a fluid port that extends through a wall of the housing. The check valve is disposed within the housing between the fluid port and the fluid outlet. The sleeve is coupled to the wall of the housing uphole of the check valve. The sleeve moves, based on pressure changes of the fluid in the float collar, with respect to the wall of the housing thereby either exposing the fluid port and opening a fluid pathway from the bore to an annulus of the wellbore, or covering the fluid port and blocking the fluid pathway.

  • Patent number: 11421512
Abstract: A wellbore assembly includes a drill string and a drill bit in fluid communication with the drill string. The drill bit has a tubular wall, an internal fluid channel, a tapered tube, and a spring. The fluid channel receives and flows the drilling fluid from the drill bit bore and out the drill bit. The fluid channel includes an inwardly projecting shoulder. The tapered tube is disposed inside the fluid channel. The tube has a rim and a wall extending from and converging away from the rim in a flow direction of the drilling fluid. The spring is disposed between the inwardly projecting shoulder and the rim. The tapered tube is movable under fluidic pressure in the flow direction to compress or extend the spring. The tube pushes an obstruction in the fluid channel out of the fluid channel upon movement of the tube.

  • Patent number: 11111749
Abstract: A system for positioning an inner tubular within an outer tubular. The outer tubular is inserted in a wellbore and has a first central axis. The inner tubular defines an inner passage of the outer tubular and is inserted in a wellbore. The inner tubular has a second central axis that is offset from and parallel to the first central axis. A flange is attached at an uphole end of the outer tubular and encircles an outer circumference of the inner tubular. The flange has a third central axis that is in-line with the second central axis. A wellhead housing is positioned at an uphole end of the flange and encircles the outer circumference of the inner tubular. A casing hanger is positioned within the wellhead housing and has an interference with the wellhead housing. The casing hanger is frictionally attached to the inner tubular.

  • Patent number: 6704885
Abstract: A system and method for performing a data backup with a stochastic scheduler in a distributed computing environment are described. A data set on a client is tracked. The data set is to be maintained with a backup data set on a centralized server within the distributed computing environment. A time period during which to initiate a data backup session for the tracked data set is selected. An instance of a backup session application on the client is periodically executed. The client attempts to initiate a connection with the centralized server beginning at a random start time during the selected time period. The client regularly reattempts the connection initiation following each failed connection initiation attempt. The tracked data set is selectively copied into the backup data set upon a successful connection initiation. Upon each successful data backup session for the tracked data set, a new random start time within the selected time slice for a next data backup session is generated.

  • Patent number: 6539341
Abstract: Log entries in a system that produces status or other log data (ASIC verification system, for example) are saved in a circular buffer until a trigger event occurs. Typically, the system operates on a Device Under Test (DUT), but may apply to other systems that simply monitor or gather information. When the trigger occurs, a window of the saved log entries are saved to disk. A level of granularity of the reporting for the log entries is set at any point between low level (cycle based) reporting (recording every event) to high level functional descriptions of the processes or activities performed by the system, DUT, or other item being monitored. Log data from various modules of the system are grouped together to provide a logical view of the recorded log entries.
