  • Publication number: 20090236166
Abstract: A centroid of bend portions of a front side frame (frame member) is offset to a specified direction of a vehicle width direction (a bending direction of the front side frame) from a centroid of a different portion from the bend portions. Accordingly, a frame structure which can properly provide the bend portion without causing any improper increase of the number of members can be provided.

  • Publication number: 20090146455
Abstract: A front side frame includes a bend portion which is operative to bend outward when an impact load acts on the front side frame from ahead. The bend portion is provided in a specified location such that the bend portion in a bending state substantially contacts a damper of the suspension from a vehicle front side. Accordingly, a rear end of the front side frame can be prevented properly from moving back when the impact load acts on the front side frame from ahead.

  • Publication number: 20090085362
Abstract: A vehicle structure for an automobile includes: a bumper beam extending in a car width direction; a crash box extending in a longitudinal direction of the automobile and connected at a distal end thereof to a side part in the car width direction of the bumper beam; and a mounting plate having a face to which a base end of the crash box is connected and another face mounted to a distal end of a vehicle frame extending in the longitudinal direction of the automobile by means of fasteners. The crash box is in a substantially cross shape in closed section.

  • Publication number: 20090085373
Abstract: A front end structure for an automobile includes a resin-made shroud panel supporting a heat exchanger. The front end structure further includes: a panel support part supporting the shroud panel against car body members; and a rearward movement allowing part allowing the heat exchanger to move rearward of the automobile relative to the panel support part when an impact load works on the shroud panel from the front of the automobile.

  • Publication number: 20080265623
Abstract: A support frame is provided to extend upward and rearward from a portion of a front side frame near a suspension tower substantially straight and connect to an upper portion of a hinge pillar. Accordingly, there can be provided a front structure of an automotive vehicle that can properly restrain a forward deformation of a cabin by transmitting an impact load at a vehicle frontal crash to the hinge pillar efficiently.

  • Patent number: 6540275
Abstract: The invention provides a structure of a front part of a vehicle body that is simple and free from the risk of maloperation. In the event of a collision between the vehicle and a pedestrian, a projecting part sweeps the pedestrian by parts of his or her legs lower than the knees in the event of a collision between the vehicle and the pedestrian, causing the pedestrian to be thrown over toward the vehicle, and after an energy-absorbing member has absorbed impact energy exerted on the legs, the pedestrian is caused to drop onto the top of a hood and protected from secondary damage.
