  • Patent number: 8484163
Abstract: A cluster network environment may comprise a plurality of nodes configured to perform various tasks, such as data I/O, storage, backup, etc. It may be advantageous to improve disaster recovery and reliability by creating backups that may be used to restore the cluster network environment and/or nodes therein. Accordingly, one or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for restoring a cluster network environment and/or nodes therein. In particular, cluster configuration data, which may be stored in a healthy node or at a remote source, may be used to restore a node affected by an integrity loss. If the integrity loss affects the cluster network environment (e.g., a majority of healthy nodes are lost), then a new cluster network environment may be created from a healthy node or a restored healthy node. The creation of the new cluster network environment may be based at least in part on cluster configuration data.

  • Patent number: 8407413
Abstract: The techniques introduced here provide a system and method for hardware implemented storage service flow classification using content addressable memory. The techniques described here allow for classification and handling of storage service requests according to service level agreement (SLA) or quality of service (QoS) parameters without consuming valuable storage server resources.

  • Patent number: 7643425
Abstract: A telecommunications system in a DiffServ aware Traffic Engineering (DS-TE) environment includes a plurality of source nodes from which LSPs arise. The system includes an MPLS network having DS-TE compliant routers and links with available bandwidth between the routers. The links having equal cost paths. Each router adding an LSP to a link as a function of available bandwidth. The plurality of source nodes in communication with the network. The MPLS network using a DS-TE bandwidth constraint model. The system includes a plurality of destination nodes in communication with the network which receives LSPs. A method for LSP path selection in a DiffServ aware Traffic Engineering environment.

  • Patent number: 7468946
Abstract: A telecommunications system using a hose model having a VPN network. The system includes a plurality of sites in communication with the VPN network. Each site requires an amount of bandwidth to introduce hose into the network. The system includes a network manager in communication with the sites through the network. The manager chooses a predetermined number of the sites as a function of their amount of bandwidth required to introduce hose into the network, establishes shortest paths between each of the chosen sites, and uses the established shortest paths for sites not chosen to send hose to and receive hose from the network. A method for provisioning VPNs in a hose model including the steps of determining an amount of bandwidth that a plurality of sites of a VPN network require to introduce hose into the network and receive hose from the network. There is the step of choosing a predetermined number of the sites as a function of their amount of bandwidth required to introduce hose into the network.
