    Abstract: Techniques for performing a digital operation on a digital image are described along with methods and systems employing such techniques. According to the techniques, an input (e.g., an input stroke) is received by, for example, a processing system. Based upon the input, an area of the digital image upon which a digital operation (e.g., for removal of a distractor within the area) is to be performed is determined. In an implementation, one or more metrics of an input stroke are analyzed, typically in real time, to at least partially determine the area upon which the digital operation is to be performed. In an additional or alternative implementation, the input includes a first point, a second point and a connector, and the area is at least partially determined by a location of the first point relative to a location of the second point and/or by locations of the first point and/or second point relative to one or more edges of the digital image.

    Abstract: A receiver test and measurement system includes a signal generator to provide a stressed signal. The stressed signal needs to be calibrated as per specification for several parameters. Some parameters including a set of two or more equalization parameters can be calibrated by a test and measurement instrument that captures the stressed signal and executes a calibration operation. A multi-variable model is created establishing a relationship between parameters that are set in the signal generator and the measured values of these parameters in a test and measurement equipment like an oscilloscope. The multi-variable model calculates coefficients that allows us to calculate setting values that need to be set in the signal generator for any desired combination of two or more equalization parameters. This allows receiver tests to be done for any combination of desired equalization parameters in a calibrated manner.

    Abstract: The invention pertains to a method and apparatus for separation of seeds from fruit pulp/skin/twigs, in general, coming out from juice producing industry as a waste and in particular from apple pomace. The method involves addition of apple pomace and water in a particular ratio to a vessel (1), mixing with an agitator (6, 8) at optimum rpm for sufficient period, allowed to stand followed by secondary agitation. Based on difference in bulk density, seeds were separated from pomace. The seedless pomace withdrawn from horizontal (13) or inclined (14) outlets and seeds collected in seed collection chamber were removed through bottom valve (11). The seed trap (15) provided at inclined outlet (14) helps in their retention in the vessel (1). The seedless pomace is recovered by filtration from water. This spent water can be recycled for few times and then purged. Easy to handle separation device is energy efficient, compactly designed and can be used to separate the seeds efficiently up to 97%.
