  • Publication number: 20100052971
Abstract: A vehicle mounted device for producing enhanced images of an underlying roadbed for the roadway on which the vehicle is traveling. The device employs a first RF transmission and second RF transmission communicated through the same individual section of roadbed, to produce two images of the section using software adapted to the task. The two individual images are then combined to yield an enhanced view of the section of roadbed in a third image. Images of sequential adjacent roadbed sections may be stored on a computer and employed to provide a three dimensional image of the underlying roadbed anywhere along the distance traveled and imaged by the device.

  • Patent number: 7336514
Abstract: An electrical power control apparatus and method for power factor correction in a conventional 60 hertz or other conventional frequency electrical AC power supply communicated to an inductive load. A plurality of interruptions of current in the line on both sides of an AC current oscillation, are created to control the power factor in a circuit energizing an inductive load. Additional power factor control and correction is provided by grounding of the line during each interruption. A controller controls the length and duration of each interruption based on preprogramming or input regarding current phase read or calculated in the line.

  • Patent number: 6836099
Abstract: An electrical power control apparatus and method for a conventional 60 hertz or other conventional frequency electrical AC power supply voltage waveform to proved an effective output current and voltage to an intended load whereby the output frequency is the same as the input frequency. Using a switching means capable of micro switching the current on and off, and a plurality of substantially equal length and duration interruptions of current on both sides of an AC current oscillation, the output effective voltage and resulting current may be preset and controlled to a pre-programmed output level regardless of input voltage having one or more phases. Or, the output voltage and resulting current may be continually monitored with the load integrated into the circuit being monitored and continually adjusted to yield maximum power use savings while avoiding damage to the components attached to the circuit.

  • Patent number: 5606334
Abstract: A compact and flat antenna that provides both Direct Broadcast Satellite and local off-air reception. The flat reflector is made of a composite material with multiple reflective radiating surfaces. The multi-stepped reflector combines both diffraction and refractive principals to collimate Radio Frequency signal waves to a short focal point. At the focal point a phase correcting splash plate and lens direct the RF signal through a low loss axis-fed circular waveguide and then to a low noise amplifier. This compact design reduces space, cost and over-all structure, which presents an aesthetically pleasing satellite communication antenna. The antenna aperture includes a VHF/UHF antenna element for reception of local and/or off-air broadcast TV signals eliminating the need and cost to install a separate antenna.
