Abstract: Disclosed is a fastener including a first and a second member, the first member having a post attached thereto extending toward said second member in a complementary relation, and the second member being connected to the first in a hinge-like relation, the second member having an opening therein for receiving the post attached to the first member. The post is attached to the first member in a complementary relation to the opening in the second member, such that when the suspender fastener is in a closed position the post remains attached to the first member, extends through the fabric of the garment being supported, and is received by the opening in the second member, whereby the fabric of the garment being supported is substantially held fixed. Furthermore, also disclosed is a reinforcement placed in the fabric of the garment to be held, such that the reinforcement is positioned intermediate the first and second members when in operation.
