    Abstract: A precipitation procedure for preparing pulverulent coating compositions of high molecular weights by post condensation and based on polyamides having at least ten aliphatically bound carbon atoms per carbonamide group. The starting materials are uncontrolled polyamides having a relative solution viscosity of between 1.7 and 2.0 (measured in 0.5% meta cresol solution at 25.degree. C.) and contain not more than 0.2% by weight of phosphoric acid. After the cooling stage of the precipitation step of the polyamides, from 0.3 to 1.2% by weight of phosphoric acid referred to the polyamide are dispersed in the suspension prior to the precipitation in the solution or after the precipitation stage.

    Abstract: An improved process for preparing pulverulent coating compositions pigmented with titanium dioxide and based on polyamides having at least ten aliphatically bound carbon atoms per carbonamide group using the precipitation method. The titanium dioxide pigments used are without nucleating effects or only have weak nucleating effects on the polyamide precipitation. The pigments have nucleating effects less than or equal to 3.degree. C. where .DELTA.T=(T.sub.max p)-(T.sub.o). T.sub.max p is the maximum temperature at which precipitation takes place in a solution of polyamide having pigment therein and T.sub.o is the maximum temperature at which precipitation takes place in polyamide solution having no pigment therein.

    Abstract: The invention concerns an improved precipitation process in the manufacture of coating powders based on polyamides having at least ten aliphatically bound carbon atoms per carbonamide group. Rapid cooling takes place with stirring mainly by distilling the ethanol solvent until the temperature of precipitation is set in the range from 90.degree. to 113.degree. C. With the beginning of the saturation limit (about 125.degree. C.), the temperature difference between the coolant in the jacket and the solution inside is maintained at most at .+-.3.degree. C. The solution is maintained during the precipitation stage at constant temperature (isothermal procedure) by further distillation of the ethanol.

    Abstract: Block copolyester amides having improved properties are applied as thermoplastic adhesives to textiles. Their melting points are between 80.degree. and 135.degree. C. and the block copolyester amides are prepared by polycondensing:(A) 60 to 95% by weight of a block polyester having terminal hydroxy groups and consisting of at least 50 molar % of the acid proportion of terephthalic acid and 40 to 90 molar percent of an alcohol proportion of 1.4-butanediol and 60 to 10 molar percent of 1.6-hexanediol, wherein up to 10 molar percent referred to 1,6-hexanediol can be replaced by aliphatic diols with longer chains; and(B) 40 to 5% by weight of a block polyamide dicarboxylic acid having a mean molecular weight M.sub.n between 1,000 and 8,000 and obtained from omega-amino-carboxylic acids or lactams having 6 to 12 carbon atoms or their mixtures with aromatic or aliphatic dicarboxylic acids.

    Abstract: The process for preparing thermoplastic polyether amides or polyether ester amides from lactams, dicarboxylic acids and polyethers having hydroxyl end groups and amino end groups or polyethers having amine end groups is improved.First, a mixture of lactams having at least 8 C atoms with dicarboxylic acids is melted in a molar ratio of 100/7 to 100/120 at temperatures of 230.degree. to 300.degree. C. while being mechanically mixed, in an inert gas atmosphere at ordinary pressure and in the absence of water, until the lactams have been reacted to at least 99%. Then, the polyether bearing the hydroxyl end groups and/or the amino end groups is added in a molar ratio of 1/0.95 to 1/1.05, based on the amount of dicarboxylic acid contained in the molten mixture. Homogenizing is then carried out with further mixing at 230.degree. to 290.degree. C. Lastly, a polycondensation is carried out to completion at 250.degree. to 290.degree. C.

C. at a water vapor pressure of 5 to 25 bars and with mechanical agitation, and wherein upon removing the water by expansion, the polycondensation is carried to completion. The present invention differs from the prior art in that the polyamides bearing carboxyl groups being used are prepared by melting a mixture of lactams having at least 8 C atoms with dicarboxylic acids in the molar ratio of 100/1 to 100/15 in the presence of a catalyst, in an inert gas atmosphere, at atmospheric pressure and in the absence of water at temperatures from 230.degree. to 300.degree. C.
