The method comprises obtaining a camera live stream from a camera in a user device, the camera live stream including image data of a particular product; determining one or more image features common to images of one or more products based at least on image analysis of image data of the images of the one or more products; comparing the one or more image features to one or more image features of the image data of the particular product to generate one or more potential adjustments to the one or more image features of the image data of the particular product; and providing, for presentation together with the camera live stream on the user device, at least one indication based on the one or more potential adjustments to the one or more image features of the image data of the particular product.

Abstract: Methods and systems for automatically creating item records for physical items. The method may include receiving an image obtained using an image sensor; detecting a physical item in the image; extracting item data regarding the physical item by applying image analysis to the image; determining, using the extracted item data, whether a memory contains an item record for the physical item; and, when no item record for the physical item exists in the memory, generating and storing in the memory a new item record for the physical item in association with the extracted item data.

A mobile device having a camera may be used when building a product item record having an associated image of the product. The method of capturing a suitable image may include obtaining a product item display page for a product item, the product item display page having a designated portion defined for display of an image of the product item; obtaining a real-time live stream of images from the camera; processing the live stream from the camera to create a processed live stream, and displaying the product item display page with the processed live stream displayed within the designated portion; and storing a processed image for the product item in association with an item record for the product item.
