Patent number: 9682023Abstract: A method for preventing oral diseases caused by dental biofilm and plaque accumulation, such as gingivitis and periodontitis by application of a single-phase stabilized chlorine dioxide composition at a concentration range of about 0.005% to about 0.800% (w/v) at a pH in the range of 6.0 to 7.4. The bactericidal properties of stabilized chlorine dioxide include reduction (kill) of anaerobic/aerobic/facultative gram-negative and gram-positive oral bacteria occurring in plaque or polymicrobial biofilms. The composition may be in the form of wash, rinse, soak, paste, gel, aerosol spray, or other suitable delivery system.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2015Date of Patent: June 20, 2017Assignee: MICROPURE, INC.Inventors: James L. Ratcliff, David R. Drake, Sally A. Cunningham, Elena J. Young

Publication number: 20170065472Abstract: Wheelchair drive boost apparatuses, drive assisted wheelchairs, and wheelchair drive boost systems are disclosed. A wheelchair drive boost apparatus includes a housing, a drive wheel including a drive axis that is movable with respect to the housing, a drive lever that engages with the drive wheel to cause the drive wheel to rotate, a transmission that couples the drive lever to the drive wheel, and an engager having a first position and a second position. The drive wheel is coupled to the transmission via a one-way engagement mechanism that permits free rotation of the drive wheel with respect to the drive lever in a first direction and constrains rotation of the drive wheel with respect to the drive lever in a second direction opposite the first direction. The engager is configured to move the drive axis with respect to the housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2016Publication date: March 9, 2017Applicant: High Stone Technologies, LLCInventors: Sally Cunningham, Steven Cunningham, Faith Quist, Caitlin Sharkey, Leslie Wines

Patent number: 8926951Abstract: A composition and method of stabilized chlorine dioxide at a concentration range of about 0.005% to about 0.800% (w/v) at a pH in the range of 6.0 to 7.4 for the prevention of oral diseases caused by dental biofilm and plaque accumulation, such as gingivitis and periodontitis, through bactericidal properties is disclosed. The bactericidal properties of stabilized chlorine dioxide are further expanded to include reduction (kill) of anaerobic/aerobic/facultative gram-negative and gram-positive oral bacteria occurring in plaque or polymicrobial biofilms. The composition may be in the form of wash, rinse, soak, paste, gel, aerosol spray, or other suitable delivery system.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2010Date of Patent: January 6, 2015Assignee: Micropure, Inc.Inventors: James L. Publication number: 20090016973Abstract: The discovery of use of stabilized chlorine dioxide at a concentration range of about 0.5% to about 0.9% (w/v) as a composition for the prevention of oral disease through bactericidal and bacteriostatic properties within a microbial environment is disclosed. The bactericidal properties of stabilized chlorine dioxide are further expanded to include kill of an increased number of anaerobic/aerobic/facultative gram-negative and gram-positive oral bacteria occurring in mixed microbial communities. The further discovery of the bacteriostatic properties of stabilized chlorine dioxide present within a microbial environment which inhibit the re-growth rate of oral bacteria after exposure resulting in significant reduction of plaque and oral malodor production is disclosed. The stabilized chlorine dioxide may be in the form of an oral wash or rinse in solution.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 9, 2007Publication date: January 15, 2009Applicant: MICROPURE, INC.Inventors: James L. Ratcliff, David R. Drake, Sally A. Cunningham, Elizabeth A. Renken, Elena J. Young
