  • Patent number: 11938301
Abstract: A method of operating a system having a fluid pump mechanism and a related controller involves: operating the system in a first mode to automatically deliver the medication in accordance with a therapy control algorithm; and receiving stress-identifying data generated at least in part from gesture data for the user. The gesture data is provided by a gesture-based physical behavior detection system. The method determines, from the stress-identifying data, that the user is under stress while the medication delivery system is operating in the first mode. In response to detecting stress, the system is operated in a second mode to automatically deliver the medication to the user in accordance with a stress-correlated therapy control algorithm. The second mode compensates for user stress as determined from the stress-identifying data.

  • Patent number: 11839743
Abstract: Methods, computer-readable medium, and devices that provide a graphic user interface for operating a medical infusion system are described. An exemplary method includes receiving analyte level information for a user; and providing a graphic user interface on a display element that includes an analyte level chart depicting analyte values and an infusate delivery chart. An exemplary chart depicts graphics showing basal amounts of infusate delivered by the system over time, wherein each graphic is illustrated with a dimension indicating an increased, same, or decreased amount relative to an immediately preceding graphic. Further, the exemplary chart depicts indicators showing bolus amounts delivered by the medical infusion system over time, wherein at least a portion of the bolus indicators is illustrated with a dimension not to scale.

  • Publication number: 20230201451
Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein relate to managing transitions into fluid delivery device operating modes. In some embodiments, the techniques involve obtaining status information pertaining to operation of a fluid delivery device, the status information including fluid delivery data, exiting a closed-loop operating mode of the fluid delivery device based on the status information, and, after exiting the closed-loop operating mode, causing generation of a user notification recommending a remedial action to improve viability of a subsequent instance of the closed-loop operating mode. The closed-loop operating mode is an operating mode in which dosage commands are automatically generated based on sensor measurement data.

  • Patent number: 11633536
Abstract: Techniques related to advance diagnosis of operating mode viability are disclosed. The techniques may involve obtaining status information pertaining to operation of a fluid delivery device. The status information may include at least one of a group comprising recent sensor measurement data, sensor calibration data, blood glucose reference measurement data, fluid delivery data, a current battery level of the fluid delivery device, and a current amount of fluid remaining in the fluid delivery device. The techniques may further involve determining, based on the status information, viability of transitioning to a destination operating mode of the fluid delivery device. Additionally, the techniques may involve causing generation of one or more user notifications of recommended remedial actions to improve the viability of transitioning to the destination operating mode when transitioning into the destination operating mode is determined not to be viable.

  • Patent number: 11583631
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of controlling operation of a medical device that regulates delivery of a fluid medication to a user. The method receives meter-generated values that are indicative of a physiological characteristic of the user, and are produced in response to operation of an analyte meter device. The method obtains sensor-generated values that are indicative of the physiological characteristic of the user, and are produced in response to operation of a continuous analyte sensor device, different than the analyte meter device. The medical device is operated in different modes when: a valid meter-generated value is available; a valid meter-generated value is unavailable and a current sensor-generated value satisfies first quality criteria; or a valid meter-generated value is unavailable and the current sensor-generated value satisfies second quality criteria but does not satisfy the first quality criteria.
