  • Patent number: 11918301
Abstract: The invention relates to a goniometer that enables precise marking of the desired ocular axis in the phase immediately after surgery for the treatment of astigmatism. It essentially consists of two circular, transparent discs, one of which is at least axially stationary, in which the angles from 0° to 180° are marked, which are aligned with the angles from 0° to 180° of the patient's eye; and the other one of which is movable both angularly and axially, with a reference mark (9) and moving rigidly connected to a marking part (12), impregnated with die, which is responsible for marking the eye. Not only does the device make it possible to carry out said marking in a precise and comfortable manner, it also makes it possible to measure the angle of toric lenses already implanted.

  • Patent number: 11746207
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing particles with pore structures, by means of a hybrid process of atomization via drying-cooling, from a water-in-oil-type emulsion of a composition of a non-solubilized and in melt state matrix. The production method comprises: i) forming a water-in-oil-type emulsion consisting of a composition of a solvent that is aqueous or soluble in water (dispersed phase) and a composition of a non-solubilized and in melt state matrix (continuous phase); ii) forming discrete particles from the emulsion via atomization, using a flow of gas at high pressure and temperature; iii) immediately removing the solvent via evaporation; and iv) subsequently cooling the formed discrete particles, resulting in porous particles that are substantially free from solvents.

  • Publication number: 20070189961
Abstract: A method is provided for making pure-silica-zeolite films useful as low-k material, specifically, more hydrophobic, homogeneous and with absence of cracks. The method utilizes a UV cure; preferably the UV cure is performed at temperatures at higher than the deposition temperature. The UV-assisted cure removes the organic template promoting organic functionalization and silanol condensation, making the silica-zeolite films more hydrophobic. Moreover, the zeolite material is also mechanically stronger and crack-free. The method can be used to prepare pure-silica-zeolite films more suitable as low-k materials in semiconductor processing.

  • Publication number: 20070026382
Abstract: An assay technique for label-free, highly parallel, qualitative and quantitative detection of specific cell populations in a sample and for assessing cell functional status, cell-cell interactions and cellular responses to drugs, environmental toxins, bacteria, viruses and other factors that may affect cell function.

  • Publication number: 20050248830
Abstract: A grating coupled surface plasmon resonance optical modulator is disclosed. A electro-optic polymer dielectric is deposited on the metallic surface of a diffraction grating to provide a metal/dielectric interface. A surface plasmon will propagate at the metal/dielectric interface in a resonant condition, e.g., when the metal surface is illuminated by transverse magnetic (TM) polarized light of the appropriate wavelength, angle of incidence and phase velocity. In the present invention, phase velocity is controlled by the diffraction grating. A transparent electrode deposited on the electro-optic layer allows an electrical potential to be applied across the electro-optic polymer. The applied electrical potential (voltage) changes the index of refraction of the electro-optic polymer, thereby disrupting the resonant condition to produce an optically detectable change in reflectance of incident light from the metal layer.
