  • Patent number: 8610300
Abstract: A device generates energy by harnessing gravitational and buoyancy forces acting on a moving member. The device includes a plurality of buoyant members, a first passage with fluid configured to receive at least one of the buoyant members so the buoyant member is free to move within the first passage due to buoyancy forces, a second passage configured to receive the buoyant member from the first passage so the buoyant member is free to move within the second passage due to gravitational forces, a first transfer mechanism that transfers the buoyant member from the first passage to the second passage, a second transfer mechanism that transfers the buoyant member from the second passage to the first passage, and at least one generator responsive to buoyant member movement within the first and/or second passage to generate electrical energy.

  • Publication number: 20100031651
Abstract: A submersible buoyancy motor has a water filled UP leg 2 and an air filled DOWN leg 4 joined by a transfer passage 8. The transfer passage has pneumatically operated gates 36, 38, 40, 42 which allow the buoyant floats 32 to move in a transfer sequence through the gates preferably one at a time to reach the exit of the passage where they rise intermittently and push against a star wheel 34. The gates regulate the feed of the floats into the passage. In another version, pistons 16, 18 transfer the floats through the transfer passage against water pressure.

  • Publication number: 20080159855
Abstract: A submersible water turbine, wherein the flow through the turbine is supplied by multiple chamber assemblies 4 which empty and fill in sequence. Each chamber assembly has a static cylinder 20 and a moveable cylinder 30 which slides in the static cylinder. Water is admitted by valve 22 and released through flexible tube 32 by exit valve 34. A conduit 18 purges the chambers through valve 28.

  • Patent number: 4261789
Abstract: A device for applying paper to a wall is disclosed which has a clamp member, a carriage and an actuator. The clamp member is formed of two elongate members for holding the paper therebetween and the carriage is formed of two pairs of wire members which hold a supply of the paper. One end of each pair of wire members is connected to one of the clamp members. The actuator is in the form of a hinge having two parts and includes a handle. The other end of each pair of wire members is connected to each part of the hinge so that the handle may be used to actuate the hinge to swing one pair of wire members relative to the other to open the clamp members and allow paper to be drawn therebetween.
