Abstract: A tool holder includes a collet configured to be clamped to the shank of a tool and a pull-out protection element configured to secure the tool against being pulled out of the collet. The pull-out protection further includes a protection element such that pull-out forces acting on the tool are transmitted to the collet. The protection element is mounted so as to be moveable relative to the collet and has a wedge-shaped configuration as well as force-transmission surface. When the protection element is in a radially inner engaged position with the tool, the protection element is configured to be clamped to the cool and the collet so as to be self locking.
