    Abstract: A resilient, force-absorbing closure for structural openings comprises at least one anchoring panel configured to be secured to a structure opening and one or more floating panels elastically coupled to the anchoring panel via one or more internal elastic couplers. In a closed state, the anchoring panel is restrained while the cooperative arrangement of the floating panel and elastic coupler provides at least one translational degree of freedom to the floating panel. In response to an impact force, the floating panel translates relative to the anchoring panel, elastically deforming the coupler to elongate collision duration and reduce impact forces. Embodiments include multi-panel systems with synchronized or independent floating panels on opposite sides of the anchoring panel, and hybrid constructions utilizing transparent, blast-resistant glass. The system may further include interlocking stoppers to limit translation and integrated damping materials to diminish post-impact vibrations.

    Abstract: A method is provided for reducing dynamic forces on doors and windows and barriers and their supports. At least one impact receiver 10 is provided to receive the dynamic forces from its source. At least one impact reducer 20 is provided to transfer the dynamic forces from the impact receiver 10 to the supports while undergoing elastic deformation. Elastic deformation of the impact reducer 20 elongates the duration of the dynamic force, and reduces the dynamic forces on the doors and windows and barriers and their supports.

More particularly, the present invention relates to a method of preparing a fibrin sealant whereby said sealant is formed by reconstituting the fibrinogen or the thrombin component in the presence of biological and/or non-biological agents such as drugs, chemicals, and proteins. Preferably, these agents are introduced in solution, such as for example, a corticosteroid-containing solution like a betamethasone solution containing betamethasone acetate or betamethasone sodium phosphate; a triamcinolone solution; or a methylprednisolone solution. These solutions may be substituted for, or provided as a complement to, other solutions that are typically used in the preparation of fibrin sealants such as, for example, calcium chloride.
