  • Publication number: 20130252750
Abstract: A billiards cue attachment includes a cue ball having a passageway therein for receiving the tip end of a cue. This arrangement eliminates the need for a player to grasp the shaft of the cue with the bridge hand. Only one hand need be employed to grasp the butt of the cue. The billiards cue attachment also offers an alternative to using a bridge stick for short players who are unable to set a hand bridge close to the cue ball, eliminating the need to hold the cue stick with one hand and the bridge stick with the other hand.

  • Patent number: 7744477
Abstract: The bank shot guide for billiards has at least one visible marking which may be disposed on a pool cue shaft, tape measure, floor, or floor accessory adapted to be easily observable by the shooter while setting up a pool shot on a pool table. The markings can be aligned along the length of the pool cue shaft, tape measure, floor, or floor accessory at predetermined distances to provide graphical symbols that can aid a player in calculating bank angle game parameters applicable to the game table being played on. The markings are designed to represent extensions of readily observable existing diamond markings typically located on the pool table side rails. Groups of the markings may be color coded and/or rotationally separated from each other to visibly display the appropriate group of markings applicable to a particular length of pool table being used.

  • Publication number: 20090165350
Abstract: A poster mounting apparatus includes an elongate mounting member (2) in the form of a hinge with a longitudinal hinge axis, having a movable leaf (9) and a fixed leaf (11) which is securable to a support. The movable leaf (9) has a longitudinal groove (23) for receiving a bar-like portion (28) provided on an edge of a poster (24) and is pivotable about the hinge axis between an open position, in which the bar-like portion can be inserted into and removed from the groove (23), and a closed position, in which the groove (23) opens in a direction away from the main part of the poster (24) so that the bar-like portion is retained in the groove. The movable leaf (9) is releasably connectable to the fixed leaf (11) to maintain the movable leaf in the closed position. An elongate edging element (26) for the poster comprises an extrusion having a strip-like portion (27) for connection to an edge portion of the poster and a bar-like portion (28) for connection to the poster mounting apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7207128
Abstract: A pair of elongate holding devices (7a, 7c) extending along opposite sides of an imaginary rectangle have respective longitudinal recesses (12, 21) which hold respective edge portions (6a, 6c) of a poster (6). One holding device (7c) has a fixed bearing member (16) and a movable member (18) which contains the recess (21) and which is pivotable about a pivot axis (19) from an active position, in which the recess (21) is open in a direction away from the opposite holding device so that the poster (6) tums back on itself near the edge portion (6c), the poster being under tension between the pair of holding devices, to a passive position, in which tension in the poster is released sufficiently to allow the edge portion (6c) to be removed from the recess (21). The holding device (7a) is preferably an upper holding device with an undercut slot (12) slidably receiving a bead (14) at the upper edge portion (6a) of the poster.
