  • Patent number: 7561699
Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing sound sources to simulate environmental effects includes source channel blocks for each source and single reverberation block. The source channel blocks include direct, early reflection, and late reverberation blocks for conditioning the source feeds to include delays, spectral changes, and attenuations depending on the position, orientation and directivity of the sound sources, the position and orientation of the listener, and the position and sound transmission and reflection properties of obstacles and walls in a modeled environment. The outputs of the source channel blocks are combined and provided to single reverberation block generating both the early reflections and the late reverberation for all sound sources.

  • Patent number: 6798889
Abstract: A calibration system for calibrating multi-channel sound systems. The calibration system includes a method for calibrating a sound system that includes a plurality of loudspeakers. The method includes steps of mapping the plurality of loudspeakers into a virtual loudspeaker system representation displayable to a user, activating at least one calibration function that creates a calibration signal that is reproduced by one or more of the plurality of loudspeakers to produce a calibration sound perceivable by the user, modifying the virtual loudspeaker system representation to include a virtual calibration indicator that indicates a characteristic of the calibration signal, and adjusting the virtual calibration indicator based on a user input, wherein when the virtual calibration indicator is adjusted, a corresponding adjustment is made to the characteristic of the calibration signal until a selected calibration sound is achieved.

  • Patent number: 6665407
Abstract: A technique for panning over four speakers utilizes an internal three-channel representation (Left, Right, W) where all channel weights are positive. The three channels are combined by a decoder to drive pairs of front and back speakers.

  • Patent number: 6453047
Abstract: A conveyor mat built up from hingedly intercoupled plastic modules, each module consisting of a number of substantially equally spaced apart hinge plates extending throughout the length of the module and provided with hinge loops at both ends thereof, the outer hinge plate and a plate-shaped part located on the outer side of a module of at least a number of modules extending to a position below the bottom face of the mat formed by the successive modules or being provided with a recess in the longitudinal direction of the module, the arrangement being such that the thus formed downward extension and/or the recesses form a lateral guide for the conveyor mat and can cooperate with a tubular or U-shaped guide section respectively.

  • Patent number: 6289435
Abstract: A method and system for re-using special purpose registers as general purpose registers utilized a special variable type to indicate that a variable may safely be stored in a special purpose register. A loader program maintains the table indicating the availability of special purpose registers for variable storage and loads a variable of the special type to an available special purpose register.
