  • Patent number: 11952164
Abstract: A container assembly including a body and a lid, the lid comprising a rotational and axial guide feature extending radially from a radially interior surface of a lid sidewall. The rotational and axial guide feature is designed to provide axial translation/retention of an accessory when the accessory is rotationally engaged with the lid sidewall. The container and accessory can include an interface that creates a gas impervious/liquid impervious seal therebetween. The seal can be provided between sealing surfaces of the container and the accessory. The lid can include or exclude a bottom wall. The lid can include a score line defining a tear panel in the bottom wall, wherein the tear panel can provide an opening through the bottom wall when the score line is fractured.

  • Publication number: 20170173929
Abstract: A peelable package comprise a first sealant layer comprising low density polyethylene and a first contaminant and a second sealant layer comprising polyethylene polymer, such as high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene, ethylene alpha-olefin copolymer or blends of such, and a second contaminant. The first contaminant and the second contaminant are selected from the group consisting propylene/ethylene copolymer with ethylene content from about 0.1 mol % to about 5 mol %, polypropylene homopolymer, butene/ethylene copolymer and polybutene homopolymer. The first contaminant of the first sealant layer may be the same as or different than the second contaminant of the second sealant layer. Also described are various embodiments of the first sealant layer, the second sealant layer and the peelable seal that is formed between the first sealant layer and the second sealant layer.

  • Publication number: 20160204937
Abstract: System and methods are provided for securely recording private data, including but not limited to medical health data. The system and methods include a first input adapted to receive unencrypted private data and a second input adapted to receive a public key. An encryption unit is adapted to receive the private data from the first input and the public key from the second input and to provide an output of encrypted private data. A storage memory receives the encrypted data, the memory having an input adapted to receive the output of encrypted private data from the encryption unit. Overall, the system is characterized in that the private data is stored in the storage memory solely in the form of encrypted private data provided as output from the encryption unit and not as unencrypted private data.

  • Patent number: 8945702
Abstract: The present invention provides flexible packaging webs comprising a non-oriented metallized sealant film characterized by a secant modulus of less than 120,000 psi and an elongation at break of greater than 150%, wherein the non-oriented metallized sealant film comprises (1) a thermoplastic base layer of a material selected from the group consisting of ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer, ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer, ethylene/norbornene copolymer, polyamide and blends thereof; (2) a metal coating deposited on the base layer and having an optical density of 1.0 to 3.0; and (3) a heat sealing layer. The packaging webs of the present invention each exhibit an oxygen gas transmission rate of between 0 to 10.0 cm3/100 in2/24 hours at 73° F. (0 to 155 cm3/m2/24 hours at 23° C.) and 0% relative humidity and a water vapor transmission rate of between 0 to 0.1 g/100 in2/24 hours at 100° F. (0 to 1.55 g/m2/24 hours at 38° C.) and 90% relative humidity. The sealant films are formed by a blown coextrusion method.

  • Patent number: 8474368
Abstract: A beverage filter cartridge having a cup, a filter, a lid and at least one beverage ingredient is provided where the cup and lid are sealed together to form an interior chamber which is separated into a first and second compartments by the filter, which is preferably basket or cone shaped, and a beverage ingredient such as coffee is contained inside first compartment, and at least one of the cup, lid and filter contains calcium carbonate in an amount effective to either improve the ability of beverage makers to pierce the cup or to provide a means for the cartridge to absorb CO2 emitted by the ingredient thereby reducing the hold time to packing and reducing the number of defective cartridges.
