    Abstract: A system for providing segmental gradient compression to a body of a patient of the type comprising a wrap applied to an appendage of the patient. The system includes a control unit, a compression bladder, a barrier disposed within the compression bladder and defining a passive port, and first and second chambers disposed within the compression bladder. The first and second chambers are defined by the barrier and are fluidly coupled to each other via the passive port. This arrangement defines a flow path of a gas from the first chamber to the second chamber through the passive port. Inflation of the compression bladder with the gas results in sequential inflation of each chamber of the plurality of chambers thereby applying gradient circumferential pressure to the appendage of the patient.
