Publication number: 20250023869Abstract: A collaborative security management system and methods are presented. The system includes a processor communicating with two or more user devices and memory communicating with the processor. The memory stores instructions that when executed result in the processor storing two or more data structures in memory. Each data structure includes secured information. The processor establishes at least one safe associated with the data structures and defines security rules for the safe. Each rule governs one of an access and an operations privilege. The access privilege grants or denies access to the safe by the user devices via an interface. The operations privilege enables or disables performance of operations upon the safe initiated by the user device from the interface. The processor controls, by the security rules, at least one of access to and operations performed upon the safes and data structures associated therewith by the user devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 14, 2023Publication date: January 16, 2025Inventors: Christopher D. SNAY, Monika TWARDOWSKA, Sam O. LEE, Joseph A. BUONOCORE, Kyle J. FOURNIER

Publication number: 20240023756Abstract: An electric grill comprises a heating platform, side walls, and grill bars spaced above the heating platform, together defining a heating chamber. The heating platform is heated electrically. A first air supply delivers pressurised air evenly across the heating platform from a central location. A second air supply directs airflow along the side walls to create a vortex of air flowing around the first air supply. The forced airflow provides for fuller combustion of fats and oils from foodstuffs being cooked so that no fat tray is required.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2021Publication date: January 25, 2024Applicant: Active Food Systems LimitedInventors: George Justin Peter Cadbury, Andrew Norman Edwards, Sam O'Rourke

One embodiment includes an autonomous vehicle (AV), a vehicle, a processor, and a memory, where the memory contains an AV model capable of driving the vehicle without human input, where the AV model is trained on a plurality of edge case scenarios. In a still further additional embodiment, a method for training AV models, including obtaining a data structure storing a plurality of scenarios that an AV can encounter, and distance metrics indicating the distance between each scenario, generating a list of edge case scenarios within the plurality of scenarios, identifying hazard frames within the edge case scenarios, encoding the hazard frames into one or more records interpretable by an AV model, and training the AV model using the one or more records.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 28, 2022Publication date: July 28, 2022Applicant: dRISK, Inc.Inventors: Robert Chess Stetson, Lorenzo Niccolini, Brett Kennedy, Sam O'Connor Russell, Nils Goldbeck, Hugh Blayney, Rav Babbra, Kiran Jesudasan

Patent number: 11363914Abstract: Cooking apparatus for cooking food by a barbecue grilling method, comprises an outer housing receiving an inner housing which defines a heating volume. A chamber for pressurised air is defined between the outer and inner housings. Apertures in the inner housing allow pressurised air to exit the chamber into the heating volume. At least one burner is located in the inner housing. A combustible fuel/air mixture is supplied to the burner and this is separate from the supply of pressurised air to the chamber. A cooking surface is placed across the top of the heating volume to support food to be cooked.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2018Date of Patent: June 21, 2022Assignee: Active Food Systems LimitedInventors: George Justin Peter Cadbury, Sam O'Rourke

Patent number: 10883924Abstract: There is set forth herein in one embodiment, a structure including a metallic grating having a grating pattern, the metallic grating including a critical dimension. The metallic grating can output a spectral profile when exposed to electromagnetic radiation, the spectral profile having a feature. The grating pattern can be configured so that a change of the critical dimension produces a shift in a value of the feature of the spectral profile. A method can include propagating input electromagnetic radiation onto a metallic grating having a two dimensional periodic grating pattern and measuring a critical dimension of the metallic grating using output electromagnetic radiation from the metallic grating.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2015Date of Patent: January 5, 2021Assignee: THE RESEARCH FOUNDATION OF STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORKInventors: Sam O' Mullane, Alain C. Diebold, Brennan Peterson, Nicholas Keller

Patent number: 8925932Abstract: A drawer for an airline trolley, which has a generally rectangular tray, is closed by a lid. The lid has a flap which is openable, and the drawer has a lock unit with which the flap engages. The lock unit is lockable by a breakable seal. The flap can be hinged about a line extended across the lid at a position forward of the back of the tray. The flap can be connected to the sides of the tray by webs which fold under the flap in its closed position, the webs preventing access to the interior of the tray under the lid. The flap can have a catch at its forward end which engages in a lockable chamber on the front of the drawer, a breakable seal being insertable into the chamber to engage the catch.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2011Date of Patent: January 6, 2015Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventors: Sam O. Blonden, Spencer Davis

Patent number: 7961095Abstract: Devices and methods using wireless or wired network communications to form cooperative alarm networks centered on themselves. Intrusion detection alarms broadcast signals notifying other intrusion detection alarms of its status. When an alarm system experiences a security event, such as an attempted break-in, it notifies its network of its security event and other alarm systems within a cooperative network commence security measures, such as honking horns and flashing headlights. The cooperative response of the networked alarm systems increases decibel level and, in turn, the likelihood of a deterrent intervention, such as the perpetrator being apprehended, as well as increases the deterrence capability of the alarm systems.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2008Date of Patent: June 14, 2011Assignee: Gridbyte, Inc.Inventors: Sam O. George, H. Bola George, Ayodele J. George

Publication number: 20100200237Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for controlling temperatures in the environments of oil, gas condensate, or gas wells. Methods are provided for reducing the melting of glaciers and ice dams through the deployment of hydrate-forming substances. Active methods involve employing a vapor-compression refrigerator/heat pump cycle in an annulus lying between the relatively hot production string and the relatively cold outer pipe. Passive methods include: deploying cold hydrate-forming fluids into the external ice-laden environment of an oil, gas condensate, or gas well in a permafrost area and allowing those hydrate forming fluids to mix with any melt-water that may be present or that may subsequently form due to the loss of heat from the oil, gas condensate, or gas well. Mixtures of the hydrate forming fluids and the melt-water will set up into a solid having a much higher melting point and a much lower thermal conductivity than those of ice.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 11, 2010Publication date: August 12, 2010Inventors: Sam O. Colgate, Robert L. Horton
