    Abstract: A draft gear removal apparatus comprising a hydraulically actuated scissors type draft gear lifting apparatus having a plurality of wheels mounted outboard on the base thereof having portions thereof extending above the base and two of the wheels being steerable and having a hydraulically actuated draft gear compression device removably mounted on the table of the lifting apparatus having a movable plurality of hydraulically actuated cylinders thereon to selectively bear against the center sill of a railcar to assist in the removal of a compressed draft gear from the center sill.
