  • Publication number: 20230363846
Abstract: A disposable surgical drape facilitates surgical field organization, and retains and shields at least one medical tube and/or cord against contamination. The surgical drape includes a flexible wall having opposite edges extending lengthwise between opposite ends and a fixation member extending adjacent one of the opposite edges. The drape includes a wall having opposite edges extending between opposite ends. The wall has an open state, wherein tubes and/or cords can be disposed into the drape, and a closed state, wherein the tubes and/or cords are protected by the drape. When in the open state, one of the opposite edges can be folded toward the other of the opposite sides to bring the wall to the closed state to protect the tubes and/or cords in an inner cavity bounded by the flexible wall.

  • Patent number: 11672623
Abstract: An improved draping system with a drape and a lock device. The drape includes an area defined by a predetermined length and a predetermined width, as well as a selectively separable portion. The drape also has a first perforation, as well as a z-shaped fold over the perforation. The lock device may be a poly seal with a second perforation. The draping system is secured to an operating table to maintain sterility about that operating table. When ready for removal, the draping system is simply pulled in opposite directions. When this occurs, the second perforation breaks, which disengages the lock device. Upon further pulling, the z-shaped fold is unfolded. Further pulling still results in the second perforation breaking.

  • Patent number: 10835337
Abstract: Systems and methods for a sterile imaging protective system are described. The system preferably includes a first flexible drape with a cavity configured to surround an imaging intensifier and a second drape that is attached to an operating table or patient drape. The second drape has a proximal portion, a distal portion, a pocket therebetween with a top sterile portion and a lower portion, and a plurality of reusable fasteners that allows the second drape to be repeatedly moved from a collapsed configuration to an expanded configuration. When in the expanded configuration, the second drape is releasably attached to the first drape. The system may also include a third drape located on the opposite side of the operating table as the second drape. The drapes preferably allow sterility to be maintained during movement of the c-arm imaging system.

  • Publication number: 20200155260
Abstract: Systems and methods for a sterile radiological drape designed to isolate the non-sterile portions of medical equipment used during surgery from the sterile zone adjacent to where medical procedures are performed are described. In one embodiment the flexible sterile drape enclosure may be incorporated into the patient drape allowing for protection and draping of both the patient and the medical equipment. In another embodiment the drape comprises a board with a hole formed therein and a sterile enclosure mounted thereto atop of a Mayo stand. This hole allows for the medical equipment to rotate into the sterile enclosure in close proximity with the sterile zone without contaminating it. The systems and methods provide advantages in that the sterile drape is easy to apply and may be moved multiple times during the surgery, which reduces the length of a medical procedure as well as the cost associated therewith.

  • Publication number: 20200060780
Abstract: Systems and methods for using a sterile drape with a surgical table are described. The system includes a sterile drape and at least one securement device that secure the sterile drape to the surgical table. The securement device may be an adhesive sticker having a perforation. Because of the perforation, the sticker is prone to break under small levels of force exerted on the sticker. In this way, a user can visually determine whether potential breaches of sterility have occurred when the sticker has broken. Additionally, the system may include magnets, weights, poly-ties, rubber bands, hooks, clips, buckles, adhesive tabs, straps, tape, and the like to secure the sterile drape to the surgical table. In this way, the surgical table can be prepared, the sterile drape can be installed, and the drape can be secured to the table to prevent breaches of sterility.

The radiation shield drape includes a circumferentially continuous wall having a sterilized outer surface and an inner surface extending between an upper end and a lower end. The inner surface circumferentially bounds a cavity sized for receipt of the radiation shield. The upper end has an everted edge providing at least one pocket extending along the upper end and further includes at least one fastener provided adjacent the upper end. The at least one fastener is configured to releasably fix the circumferentially continuous wall about the radiation shield.
