Both the old account information and the new account information may be included in the authorization response message sent to the transacting party. Accordingly, the updated account information is provided to the transacting party as a part of the transaction processing. The user account update may include a new account identifier assigned to the account, changes to the user information (e.g. name, address, etc.), changes to the information (e.g. expiration date, security code, etc.) associated with the account.

Abstract: A method and system for efficiently providing digital receipts is disclosed. Digital receipts can be provided to a user in real-time and on-demand, via a communication device operated by the user. The user can use the communication device to request a digital receipt or other transaction information. This request can be formatted as an API call and transmitted to a processing server, which can then query a database and request transaction information from a resource provider in order to produce the digital receipt.
