  • Patent number: 7147460
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for producing plastic articles by forming them in an inert atmosphere, the device comprising a hopper, a feed screw and means for forming the polymer melt. The device for injecting inert gas comprises a gas feed pipe, a gas injection surface near the wall of the hopper and a homogenization chamber fitted between the wall of the hopper and the gas feed pipe. That end of the gas feed pipe which is directed towards the injection surface is closed and has at least one radial opening O allowing the gas to be ejected at right angles to its direction of flow in the pipe.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 10, 2001
Date of Patent: December 12, 2006
Assignee: L'Air Liquide, Societe Anonyme A Directoire et Conseil de Surveillance pour l'Etude et, l'Exploitation des Procedes Georges Claude
Inventors: Olivier Negro, Sami Dick, Marc Leturmy, Stéphane Melen

  • Patent number: 5997948
Abstract: A deposit of a silica base layer is formed on the surface of a glass product by projecting on a hot surface of the product, in a non confined ambient atmosphere, a gaseous mixture having a silane content lower than 2%, an oxygen content between 3.5 and 30%, and advantageously a hydrogen content lower than 5%. The surface of the object to be treated is advantageously heated immediately before being sent to the injection station.

  • Patent number: 5545033
Abstract: The oxygen/fuel burner contains at least one first tubular component (2) conveying the oxidant and at least one second tubular component (3), for injecting the fuel into the oxidant flow, arrangd asymmetrically with respect to the first (2) so that the mixing region upstream of the flame contains a part where the ratio of the oxidant to the fuel is less than the soichiometric value.

Date of Patent: August 13, 1996

  • Patent number: 5431707
Abstract: There is formed a silicon-base antimigration barrier layer by projection, on a hot surface of a glass object, in an unconfined ambient atmosphere from a gaseous mixture comprising neutral gas, a silicon precursor, typically a silane, between 10 and 60% of ammonia and preferably less than 5% oxygen, the ratio of the oxygen and silane contents being comprised between 0 and 4. It is useful particularly for the treatment of sodium-calcium glass receptacles to prevent migration of ions into liquids contained in the receptacles.
